Peachtree City Police have confirmed the arrest of two suspects in an armed robbery at United Community Bank at Ga. Highway 74 near Wisdom Road at approximately 2:15 p.m. Friday.

Police spokesperson Capt. Rosanna Dove said a witness followed the vehicle in which the suspects fled the scene and called Fayette 911 Communications Center.

The witness relayed the location of the two suspects and the vehicle to dispatchers as it attempted to leave Peachtree City, Dove said.

Officers located the suspect’s vehicle at Ga. Hghway 54 near Huddleston Road. Officers stopped the vehicle and arrested the two suspects, Dove said. An undisclosed amount of money and a weapon were observed in the vehicle after the traffic stop, said Dove.

I was coming out of the Best Buy in Peachtree City when the police pulled over the getaway car. PTC was really on top of this really quick, I heard the officer tell the bandits to get out of the car with their hands up. They both complied with lots of guns on them, Also great responce by Hawk One from the sheriffs department, they were there as they were taken out of the car. Now these were probaly not the smartest crooks to begin with,,lets see rob a bank in a city where there are lots of cops and a helicopter than can follow you anywhere. Know times are tough but lets make sure our public safety employees at all levels are not cut, This proves the point of our quality of life here in Fayette County, worth the taxes we pay. The name of the Sheriffs Department helicopter is Hawk One, not Hock,,,just missed a few letters,,think they still call it that. Glad Sheriff Johnson got the chopper and lets keep the funding for it.
