No further update on the victim’s condition is available at this time,” a police statement said. The woman was walking from Taco Mac restaurant toward the Hampton Inn Hotel at Hwy. 74 and Marketplace connector about 10 p.m. Wednesday when she was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Hwy. 74, police said. “Witnesses stated that a middle-age to older white male driving a beige-in-color four-door sedan fled the scene after hitting the victim,” police said. “Another witness stated that the vehicle involved was possibly an SUV or a pickup truck.
