Atlanta resident and former Fayette County resident Brandon Patton is back home. Reported missing since early April after not showing up in Tampa to take his 3 year-old daughter on vacation, Patton provided few clues about his absence. Patton has worked for two years as executive chef at the Hollingsworth House in Fayetteville.

11Alive TV reported Thursday that 28 year-old Patton had returned to his home in Atlanta, saying that he went off on his own to deal with personal issues. Patton declined to describe those issues, the report said. Patton told 11Alive that he was unaware of the extensive search initiated by family and law enforcement, according to the report.

The former Fayette County resident now living in Atlanta, Patton began the journey to pick up his young daughter from her mother’s home in Tampa, Hollingsworth House co-owner Belinda Fitch said last week. The two were to go on vacation, Fitch said.

Earlier this week, Florida authorities released surveillance photographs of Patton at a bar near St. Petersburg. Atlanta Police said the photographs showed Patton did not appear to be under any duress, 11Alive reported.

Tell that to his daughter who he 'abandoned' and those who love him and were worried sick about his well being.
Yes, we do usually think the worst when we here this kind of story because responsible people don't behave this way. Prisons are chock full of people who 'made a mistake,' should we have ignored all of their bad behavior too? If it were up to me this guy would be paying restitution to all of the agencies that WASTED THEIR TIME AND RESOURCES looking for him. I hope he gets the help he needs.

I think its funny that someone can go off for a week or two and we always assume it was some huge big deal. So what if he didn't pick up the phone? Maybe he didn't want to be found. I think we can all relate to wishing we could get away for a bit... this guy just actually did it. Kudos to him. I wish I had that type of gusto in me.

I will admit though, he could have told one person he was going out of town for a while... oh well. No harm no foul.

Wow. Have we really lost the compassion and understanding of our fellow human beings? This is a very sad situation because obviously something was going on with him and he made a bad decision. I don't know about anyone else, but I can't honestly say that I have never made a bad decision, or done something I am not very proud of. As a parent myself, if my son ever disappeared like this I would hope people would care enough to help me look. Whatever the outcome was/is, worrying about another's well-being is NEVER time wasted. Bad choice or not, he is a human being and we are all entitled to mistakes.

Sooner or later some thing will come to light about his vansishing act...He was busy partying and could careless about his family being worried about him. How gard would it have been to pick up a phone?

Personal issues? Sounds more like a man who didn't give a damn adout his loved ones, since he simply vanished and didn't have the guts to contact them..Sounds like he loves the bars though..

Too much time was wasted worrying about the the man anyway.
