Six people were arrested early Friday morning as multiple units of the Fayette County Sheriff's Office raided four homes in the Shiloh Mobile Home Park on the eastern border of Peachtree City, officials said. Backed up by the SWAT team and helicopter unit of the sheriff's department, four different homes were raided at the same time, said Lt. Jody Thomas of the Tactical Narcotics Team. The investigation began with complaints lodged by law-abiding residents of the park, Thomas said. "Hopefully this will send a clear message to the community that we're there and we will do everything we can to make sure it is a safe and desirable place to live," Thomas said. The six arrests included: Sheriff's deputies, detectives and drug agents took part in the raid along with the SWAT team and helicopter unit, Thomas said. The investigation was conducted by the Tactical Narcotics Team of the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, which consists of deputies and members of the Fayetteville, Tyrone and Peachtree City police departments. In the raid they were assisted by the sheriff's SWAT team, detectives, the Hawk 1 helicopter unit, K-9 officers and uniform patrol officers, officials said. In a separate incident Wednesday, TNT agents arrested two people at a shopping center in Fayetteville for selling crystal "ice" methamphetamine to an undercover agent. Nikki Marie Huckaby, 28, of Luthersville and Michael Allen Almond, 28, of Gay were charged with selling methamphetamine and possession of a schedule IV drug, officials said. Huckaby and Almond sold a quarter ounce of "ice" methamphetamine to an undercover agent for $445, officials said. Narcotics agents also found 10 xanax pills in their vehicle during a search after the arrests, and Huckaby was charged with possession of methamphetamine after agents found a gram of ice on her person, officials said. Fayetteville uniformed officers assisted in the operation, Thomas said. login to post comments |
