Useful Idiots Caucus

Perfect term to describe the "Black Congressional Caucus"

Cubans who dare to oppose the regime pay a terrible price. Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Calif., who led this delegation and has been a Castro apologist for decades, should be deeply ashamed. So should they all.

The White Congressional Caucus could not be reached for comment because, well, there is no such thing as the White Congressional Caucus because it would be racist to have a congressional group put together based only on the color of one's skin.

The only time you can single out one race of people and have special groups for them is when you are black. Black spring break(until Atlanta woke the heck up) Miss Black America, black caucus, "black colleges" "black churches" it goes on forever.

The hypocrisay is astounding. The naacp would be the first ones crying and sniveling if whites had organizations for whites only.

Is any race or color of people worth having their own special group?

When is the Miss Native American contest held?

The reason for 'black' colleges; black caucus; black churches - is because it was the tradition in this country to segregate citizens based on their skin color - especially in certain southern states which wanted to maintain their states rights by continuing the practice of slavery in their respective states. This tradition lasted legally from colonial times through the 1960's. This tradition was the basis of the establishment of 'black' organizations. The 'black' caucus was established when more than one legislator who was black was a member of Congress - to discuss specific legislation and issues pertaining to 'black' citizens. There are other caucuses in Congress. The civil rights movement was in response to 'white' only groups. White churches, white organizations, etc. still exist today - just as 'black' organizations and churches. Traditions are hard to break. By the way - there are Hispanic organizations; Asian organizations; Native American organizations, Why? Because people of color were not welcomed in some 'white' organizations. There were/are German/American organizations, Irish/American organizations; Italian/American organizations - etc. There is no need to fear any of these organizations - with the possible exception of the KKK or other marginal racial hate groups who espouse violence to fellow Americans.

Like the black separatists?

The militant black panthers, or the nation of islam, or the united nuwaubian nation?

I would like to go to a "white church" do we have any of those left that the naacp hasn't shut down yet? How about a "white" only neighborhood, or golf club? Don't all start typing at once. Also I would like to join the "white caucus" so that I could help promote white issues. How do I get in touch with them again?

Submitted by Davids mom on Sat, 04/11/2009 - 9:15am.

Think before you start shooting from the hip. Of course the radical hate groups of any 'color' are included. They are destructive to our American goal of peace for all citizens. The NAACP has not 'shut down' any church. If I'm mistaken, please correct me. I have never lived in a more diverse area than metro Atlanta. I am not aware of any 'white only' golf club - since many of the corporations in Atlanta include membership for their executives - and many of their executives are persons of color. I think, from your posts, that you are already familiar with 'white' groups who want to promote 'white' issues. Fortunately, these groups are not part of most American groups who are working with anyone of any color who are interested in their particular issues. What are 'white' issues? Black issues are becoming 'employment issues; housing issues; health issues; justice issues - oops - I guess we could say these are American issues. Would you also consider them ‘white’ issues?

Don't forget this factoid regarding the Dallas neighborhood that George and Laura Bush moved to, which had a rule that only white people could live there - as recently as 2000 - unless of course the black/brownish folks were "domestic servants."

"11) Said property shall be used and occupied by white persons only except these covenants shall not prevent occupancy by domestic servants of a different race or nationality in the employ of a tenant."

One of the joys moving to Georgia is not finding the 'white only' covenant in our contract when purchasing our home in a new development. Since the 50's, in California, when one purchased a home in a 'nice' established neighborhood, there was that restriction 'no Negros, Jews, or Asians' written in the deed. Of course, it was not enforceable - but it still left a bitter feeling that it was in the legal papers that were turned over to the new owners. We are 'moving on'.

What 60 Minutes once called "the most racist suburb in America".

The covenants specifically said the property could only be conveyed to a member of the "white race". The first home I owned had such language on the deed. Made me sick.

The "tweed curtain" of real estate agents enforced the covenants by steering blacks away from houses in the area. The Fair Housing Act made these covenants not only unenforceable but unlawful.

Ironically, crime exploded in San Leandro in the years after that. I'm sure it's just a coincidence.

What's that prove? Whites practiced protectionism in a most ugly and hateful way and then, when blacks finally got in, they did a rather poor job too.

Stupidity is never in short supply.

I concur the point is rather moot. When the shooting starts, we can either all run to the arms room together.. Or the powers that be will pick us off one by one....BLESS

Thank you for the history lesson, dm.

Shouldn't the caucus then be called the African American Caucus? Otherwise it just sounds like a group based on the color of skin.

The time in American history where segregation was legal and acceptable was terrible. But how are we supposed to move past all of that when certain people choose to segregate themselves in special groups based on the color of the skin?

Traditional practices are hard to break. Unfortunately what you view as self-segregation is viewed by some as ancestral pride. I have participated in Greek festivals all of my life - because of my Greek friends who shared their traditions with the community. Oktoberfest is a delicious tradition! Chinese New Year provides excitement and color to a community. Your contributions, in my opinion, paint you as the segregationist in this discussion. No one is excluded from participating in Drumline - a tradition of Black Colleges; etc. No one is excluded from participating in Oktoberfest. These are American traditions. We are moving towards an American tradition - where we celebrate one another's heritage and contributions to our country. Won't you join us?

Davids Mom: Your contributions, in my opinion, paint you as the segregationist in this discussion.

Specifically, dm, which contributions paint me as a segregationist.
No him-hawing around here- I want specifics and proof.

Now, back to the matter that the Black Congressional Caucus had the audacity to go down and suck up to the DICTATOR, Fidel Castro, who put his own people in deplorable conditions in prison for speaking out against his totalitarian regime. Why did they do that, dm?
Then they had the nerve to tell Fidel that America doesn't want to open up trade and travel to Cuba because America is a racist nation.

And these are supposed to be our leaders? It simply is amazing that more people aren't outraged by all of this. Every one of these useful idiots in the bcc should be forced to resign immediately.

The system is banking on us remaining divided by race, so that a select few individuals can prosper and grow even more empowered, by maintaing the status quo. What if we all were united and became colorblind, all in a flash.. The director of the NAACP would be out of a job, the organization disbanded. All the special intrest groups in Washington, Would have to find a new intrest. People using race as an excuse for their situations would have to get up off their kiester and find a new one... The number of churches black and white would have to be consolidated and even the most Mega church so to say would no longer be big enough to house the massses that would come together under this new era.....BLESS

We've elected a 'black' president . .after years of segregation. I think that qualifies as 'moving on' since colonial times. We have a lot more 'moving on' to do without losing what makes Americans unique. We represent all mankind under one flag; living in peace together with respect and dignity. An interesting concept. . .becoming a reality in the United States of America. God continues to bless America as we continue to ‘move on’.

It's the hypocrisy that I hate. I also love to point it out when it is so blatant.

At my place of work we have a group or club called the "black coalition" Unless the feds let us form a "white coalition" I think it we have grounds for a racial discrimination suit.

Have a good weekend.

If you are interested in issues that affect the 'blacks' in your organization and want to assist them in addressing these issues - why don't you join them?

Submitted by skyspy on Sat, 04/11/2009 - 9:12am.

I'm not interested in "black" issues.

I'm interested in "white" issues. Specifically racial discrimination directed at whites in the form of affirmative action. I would love to know why whites have to score a 90% or better on our application test and minorities only have to score a 70% to get hired.

I would love to know why white people have to prove employment and salary in order to qualify for a mortgage?

Either we are all equal or we or not.

Have a good Easter weekend.

You misunderestimate Congress. There are hundreds of caucuses, Here are just a few which seem to fit your criteria:

Congressional Brazil Caucus
Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues
Congressional Caucus on Central America
Congressional Caucus on Hellenic Issues
Congressional Caucus on India and Indian Affairs
Congressional Caucus on the Netherlands
Congressional French Caucus (gasp!)
Congressional Hispanic Caucus
Congressional Caribbean Caucus
Congressional Caucus on Poland
Congressional Caucus on Taiwan
Congressional Ethiopia and Ethiopian American Caucus
Congressional Georgia Caucus (not us, the other one)
Congressional United Kingdom Caucus
Friends of Kazakhstan Caucus (probably Caucasian!)
House Bangladesh Caucus

And yes, there is a Congressional Native American Caucus.

There's also a Congressional Refugee Caucus. They don't have a web site but I think it's for either moderate Republicans or fiscal conservatives.
