President Obama on Illegal Immigrants and North Korea

Does anyone else find it interesting that the president can, on one hand, turn his back on current immigration laws, and then tell the world regarding North Korea's nuclear ambitions “Rules must be binding,” he said. “Violations must be punished. Words must mean something.”

No one is above the law.. I was against Bush and the Dems when they pushed this earlier and nothing has changed since..
You are either here legally or not.. if not enforce the laws on the books.. make it hard to get employment by going after the ones that hire them.. No Work then they leave.. Simple..

I will not lower my standards.. So UP YOURS.. Evil

Exactly WHICH immigration law is President Obama "turning his back on"? Inquiring minds want to know!

Lets try the one he and the VP says is not working. You know the one that's real simple; if one's visa has expired or one lacks the correct documentation then you're deported.

There's a big difference between admitting a law isn't working and "turning your back" on a law, methinks.

The USA deported 350,000 people in 2008, double what they did in 2004. Is that not progress?

the rest under the current law.

But no, the laws need to be changed to reduce the whining. Let's make them all pay a penalty to register just one more time (but of course it has to be fair to them because you sure don't want them to pay for the additional cost of the program). Hey, we'll even run a FBI background check to ensure.....well to ensure that they have not broken any laws. And then we'll crack down (Obama's words) on those evil (my word to support Obama's spin)employers who hire these poor souls but darn it, they can't use e-verify because it's not....well it's not fair.

So when we replace the current bureaucracy with a far larger one and there is still whining about how unfair or bureaucratic this new program is or how it breaks apart families then what, do we change again?

But when it's all said and done, Obama's goal is to increase the number of legal immigrants to keep families together and meet the demand for jobs that employers cannot fill. I really like the last bit of his idea - meet the demand for jobs that employers cannot fill. So I guess the economy is fundamentally strong after all or is it just meaningless cheap talk. (methinks)

Oh, I almost forgot, how is his auntie doing? You know, the one that has already been ordered deported twice. Well she gets to stay another year. Oh my, isn't that interesting.

Yes, he's turning his back to existing laws and I'm a fat cyclist. Smiling

BTW, I'm looking at a coffee rondevu in PTC on one of the last couple of Saturdays of this month. Stay tuned.

Current immigration laws are a joke, just produce a backlog of applications for immigration benefits and deport the wrong, hard working people while allowing foreign criminals to stay in country. A revamp and reform is urgently needed. Raids by ICE to capture working people and deport mothers while leaving their U.S. born children behind is certainly no sound law. Even W recognized these flaws during his tenure, and this is to say a lot about the worst presidency ever.

I thought this tread might get you out of the.......shadows. You know, you really need to broaden your scope a little bit and discuss other issues. Are going to attend one of the upcoming tax revolt parties on the 15? Do you even pay taxes?

I think this man is dependent on illegals to provide cheap labor for his Mexican Restaurant. Since this person pays cash to his illegals then it is obvious that taxes, insurance, and employment issues are not a concern to Mr. Undocumented.

Close but not accurate. I am in the food business but I do not own a restaurant. I own the biggest airplane food business, if you happen to fly Delta first class (among other airlines) you likely have eaten the food prepared by my dozens of immigrant workers, who pay taxes as I do. They work very hard and I aim to share the wealth with them paying decent, competitive wages. What do you do, besides writing ignorant rantings in this blog site?

These forums have become bear pits of partisan rantings and misrepresentation.
In your earlier post, you went out of your way to mention that the Bush administration was, "the worst presidency ever," which it clearly was not.
Your screen name's translation is, "A. adj: not carrying identity papers; B. person who carries no identity papers C.(Méx) illegal immigrant."
Source of Translation-Spanish - English Collins Dictionary.
Does your usage of this screen name mean that you are an illegal immigrant? Please be precise in your answer, because there is a big difference between illegal immigrants and foreign nationals who happen to live and work in the United States.
This distinction seems to be lost in the discussion. Please allow me to be clear on my feelings(not that most people seem to care about what those who hold opposing viewpoints feel or think!) about the immigration discussion. If you and your workers have gone through the proper channels and are here legally, allow me to say, "Bienvenidos!" I would think that those who have paid their dues, or whose families have paid those dues to become U.S. citizens would be more outraged than myself that the scofflaws are allowed to persist.
If not, then you are in violation of U.S. immigration laws and so are a CRIMINAL. If any of your workers are illegals, then they are Criminals for being here and you are a CRIMINAL for hiring them. If you don't want to be considered a criminal, then kindly obey our laws.
Simple, no?

I never did think about that angle; the owner of a Mexican Restaurant. But, you might be on to something. Wouldn't that be a hoot. President Obama is going to "crack down" on those evil employers even Mexican Restaurant employers. And if they broke the law and are not legal then egad, why they might be deported. I'm shocked!

It's the democrat liberal way - do as I say, not as I do.

The laws and the constitution don't apply to them. Didn't you know that?
