School custodian acquitted of molesting daughterFri, 03/27/2009 - 3:47pm
By: John Munford
A Fayette man was acquitted this week of charges that he molested his daughter dating back to 2001 when she was 11 years old. Toney Elder, 45, of Old Greenville Road was found not guilty of two counts of child molestation. The incidents were alleged to have taken place at Elder’s former home in Peachtree City and also at Braelinn Elementary where he worked after school hours as a custodian. The victim, who is now 18, testified that on one occasion her father inappropriately touched her inner thighs, touching her clothed genital area “a little.” On the other occasion, she claimed that he touched her breasts, also while she was clothed. The victim, who reported the incident to police in 2007, explained her reason for not reporting it sooner. “Because he was my father and I still love him,” the victim said. login to post comments |
