Update - 4:40 - Despite seven fourth quarter points from Teesah Holt (17 total), the Lady Tigers could not stop Southwest DeKalb from hitting easy shots close to the basket. The Lady Panthers defeated Fayette County 59-46. It was the second year in a row Fayette fell to Southwest DeKalb in the Class AAAA championship.

Update - 4:10 - The Lady Tigers only connected on three field goals in the third quarter and trail Southwest DeKalb 40-32 heading into the fourth quarter.

Southwest DeKalb's Lady Panthers, the reigning state champs and the team that defeated Fayette County in last year's final, has led the entire way. They stretched the lead to nine points with two minutes left in the half but Sasha Sims scored six straight points and Tessah Holt hit a free throw to cut the lead back down to two.

Sims leads the team in scoring with 12 points, while Anma Onyeuku has six.

Even though I'm a SCHS Patriots fan, I tip my hat to those Lady Tigres for a season well done.
