Most of you missed the point about speed traps

I agree that speeders should be ticketed, but my point is that the cops are taking up a lot of time setting up these speed traps when we need them in he high crime areas so that we can feel safe in our own city. When everyone starts shopping online because we are afraid to go shopping, and our local businesses close down, and there is no tax dollars to pay our policemen, they will realize that maybe they should have focused on the REAL problem. Just read the Citizen and see how much crime we have in Fayetteville, and it will get much worse as the economy continues to spiral downward.

Oh good grief already.... What kind of time does it take to pull over, throw it in park, roll down the window, and then point a freaking speed detector?

when we need them in he high crime areas so that we can feel safe in our own city.

They are in the middle of of a "high crime area". And even though they pull over to economize fuel usages, while being visible and accessible and nailing a speeder from time to time does not mean they are not within striking distance of responding to a crime or seeing some piece of human debris fleeing from one. Good grief... what is going to be your next beef? Whining about firemen doing safety inspections of local businesses when they could be out responding to an emergency? Think about that for a moment.....

When everyone starts shopping online because we are afraid to go shopping, and our local businesses close down, and there is no tax dollars to pay our policemen, they will realize that maybe they should have focused on the REAL problem

My gosh man.... listen to yourself. Now ticketing speeders is the cause of our economic woes.

Just read the Citizen and see how much crime we have in Fayetteville, and it will get much worse as the economy continues to spiral downward.

Yup.... so be ready. When the predators come kicking your door down to rob your sorry butt you had better be ready to fill them with lead. Realize that whether or not our law enforcement friends are writing a ticket, cuffing a perp, or patrolling for predators they cannot be everywhere to protect us. It is not possible. So be ready.... be very ready....

I am glad to see the city sitting at the end of street watching all the cars go by laying eyes on the ones who seem to be in a hurry so to say... We need more of these types of routine meet and greets, for these are the types of stops that let the thugs know that we are watching. Keep up the good work.. PEACE...

You're missing the point in that this is not a speed trap, the limit doesn't drastically drop with a cop hiding behind a billboard, if these people are dumb enough to speed past the police station they more then deserve a ticket.

I yam what I yam....Popeye
