Fayette County residents are invited to participate in a workshop next week so they can provide input on the county’s future transportation needs.

The input will be used to develop a comprehensive transportation plan for the county, officials said.

The workshop stretches over several days, allowing citizens to “drop in” and meet face to face with consultants who will be drafting the plan. The idea is for the citizens to discuss planning goals, potential projects and areas of concern to those who live and work in Fayette, officials said.

The “drop-in” workshops are scheduled from Monday, March 9, through Wednesday, March 11, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and also on Thursday, March 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

These workshops will be held in the large public meeting room across from the fountain at the county administrative complex in downtown Fayetteville.

Also on Thursday March 12, starting at 5 p.m., is a workshop “pin-up” session, officials announced.

The event starts with a kick-off meeting for the workshops, which is scheduled for Monday, March 9, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and also will be held at the large public meeting room at the county administrative complex.

The event will move to City Hall in Peachtree City on Tuesday, March 17, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for a wrap-up presentation on the public meeting process.

Mysteryman you make me laugh. Your comments about the Fred--- LMAO about "we be clubbing." Let's get us a Red Room Shuttle going there, complete with complimentary Old English Ale and The Bull. Better make them vinyl seats though. Lager Logsdon done be leading the way. Heck, as a cost cutting measure let Bernie be the driver. (Looking at his arrest report, though, the city will get him a box of white wine instead.) I can see it and hear it now. Thumping beat as the shuttle winds it way down McIntosh trail--- Harold in the back tossing back a cold one.

Poor Cal Beverly. See his latest column on local politics? He has kept flailing away with incredible endurance. He makes Lance Armstrong look tired and wore out. Cal at least deserves one of them fancy jerseys I guess.

U R right---- Fayette Transit is going be MARTA, roads to nowhere (yup thru farmland and wetlands) and lots of profit for the Chamber Hacks and Eric "I SUE" Maxwell and his buddies. Just call the West Bypass TDK BLVD East. Samo, samo. You gotta love those cute little terms like "Pin-up" or in PTC they say "charette". You get that "oh, that's so nice" feeling and then its BOHICA.

Let me grab that cordless drill and install wheels on the entertainment center. Thanks, MM, you da man.

is to widen the existing roads. Cutting new roads through farm and forest and wet -lands (and peoples' HOMES) is just asking for more development, more people, more traffic, more crime, more angry Fayette citizens, ....etc. Most of the roads in this area are narrow and two-lane. Fix that first.

Another battle to face??? Who are these "officials" who think we need more transportation here? More transportation means more problems...we have enough right now!

What we have is fine. Don't spend any more money.
