F’ville makes unwise choice for trash haulerTue, 02/24/2009 - 3:25pm

Fayetteville Mayor and City Council, CLM Sanitation will turn Fayetteville into a cesspool. You are making a big mistake switching to their service. Peachtree City decided against them for the reasons I am about to point out to you. I began to complain to CLM when I noticed excessive oil spills in front of my house after switching to their service. I too was enticed by their lower offer but soon learned they did not honor “3 months free” nor responded to my complaints. I really regretted making the change. I never got past the receptionist the first six weeks, who promised on three occasions the president would personally address the problem and contact me. It never happened. Then I noticed it was in front of everyone’s house who used their service in our subdivision. There were no oil spills in front of those who didn’t. As a member of the board of Pine Lake Estates HOA I brought it to the residents attention at the annual meeting. They were all appalled and agreed to find a better sanitation carrier. When I did I finally got a call from Joe, a manager in CLM’s company, he acknowledged the problem, said he would correct it, but they would NOT clean up the mess. The following week, their truck left the worst hydraulic spill ever, trailing all the way out to the entrance. I was furious and let him know we were all changing service. He sent out an apology letter to all residents, which I have a copy of, but still refused to clean up the mess. Please reconsider your choice as lowest bid is not always the best. Also, as member of Grassroots, a conservation oriented coalition, I am seeking how to file environmental damages in the way of fines and permit restrictions on this sloppy company. They use older trucks, and have the highest complaints among all the waste companies. Just ask the Peachtree City Council. I had Waste Management in California and they never left oil and hydraulic spills and are very environmentally conscious. CLM is not. The trucks WM uses in Fayetteville now are new and very clean. Changing to CLM is a big mistake and you will take a lot of heat in the form of complaints. Michael Meyer Fayetteville, Ga. login to post comments |
