Secretary (The Honorable) Hillary Clinton & China

Hillary obviously knows more about running government than we gave her credit for knowing!

Yesterday she thanked the Chinese rulers for buying our debt in recent years. I think they own about 20-25% of it.
If they were to stop buying it, we would be in dire straights!

They buy our debt because we buy their goods in larger quantities than the loans they give us. In addition to the interest they also get their money back for the goods.

All is not bad however for us. We still have the most technical knowledge in the world, the most natural resources, and the most loyal and strong military.
We are on a great big island that is hard to get to by terrorists and we can likely defend ourselves due to that.

What we aren't though is a country that can not fail. Stupid decisions can still get us!
Decisions like building fences around us; stopping trade or adding tariffs; trying to spread democracy and Christianity into other countries who do not want either; and stopping helping the less fortunate.

Yep, we give Israel $2.5 Billion in annual aid and they bomb the %#*&^ out of the Palestinians and we the taxpayers just continue to give. Puzzled

I don't think you understand that us giving aid to Israel keeps us from occupying that same area with our troops! A cheap deal!

We don't want them to bomb Palestinians, just terrorists located there. Jews are Palestinians also!
Jordan is Palestinian---it is all Palestine!

It was split up by the Dutch, The English, and us for the oil!

You can see what Iraq has cost us--never to be returned--by our invasion there! Iran wanted the place and maybe we should have let them have it and Saudi Arabia also!

You are talking about forced treaties, etc., which never worked.

Palestine went from Mesopotamia to Turkey in reality and in fact.

The region called Palestine went from Sumerian-type, to Egypt, to Hittite/Canaanite, to Hebrews (descendants of Abraham,) to Assyria, to Babylon, to Egypt, to Persia, to Greek/Macedonian, to Roman, to Sassanid, to Arab, to Crusaders, to Syrians, to Ottoman Turk, to British/French Mandate, to current division. The only force that has tended to work in this area, and most areas and arenas of human migration, is force and warfare. A modern society does not mean we have outgrown our innate tribalism/nationalism.
