Coweta Sheriff’s investigators are seeking information relating to the Feb. 15 stabbing death of 54 year-old Cathy Mendenhall McNaughton at her home in the French Village subdivision in northeast Coweta near Tyrone and Canongate Golf Club.

Homicide investigators are releasing little information, though Coweta County Coroner Ray Yeager said Wednesday that McNaughton sustained multiple sharp force injuries to the torso.

Coweta Sheriff’s Office also confirmed that there were no signs of forced entry at the Portage Lane residence, according to Maj. James Yarbrough.

The woman’s husband, Alec McNaughton, is reported to have placed a call to emergency dispatchers at approximately 8 p.m. Sunday after returning home and finding his wife bleeding and unresponsive, Yarbrough said. He was later interviewed as a person of interest, said Yarbrough.

Paramedics responding to the residence reported that Cathy McNaughton was deceased, Yarbrough said.

Anyone with information relating to the ongoing investigation into McNaughton’s death is asked to contact Coweta County Sheriff’s Office at (770) 253-1502.

This woman was stabbed to death on Sunday in Coweta county and we are just now hearing about it in the Citizen?
What does it take to make news these days?
