Obama warns of need for stimulus bill right away

He's trying scare the public into accepting this pork-laden piece of crap Pelosi/Reid dream before they figure out that it will do little to stimulate the economy.

The only thing barry's bill will do is waste tax payers money on government programs.

barry has proven to be such a pathetic, incompetent excuse for a leader.

How sad, disgusting and disappointing is Obama's JOKE of a stimulus plan. Less than 10% is allocated for infrastructure spending and the rest is either to create or stimulate a social program or to buy votes via pork spending. I had HOPE that Obama would have channeled the monies of this spending spree into infrastructure creation and improvements. I mean my God above.... If you are going piss away unimaginable amounts of money to create jobs, then why not have something tangible to show for it at the end of the day? Shameless is too mild of a word for this Government Stimulus Package. In reality the only thing getting stimulated here is bigger gumament.

Socialism works until you run out of 'Other People's Money'.

I admire Nitpickers also. But, I have my own agenda. Go back and read mine througout and you will soon see that what I have said for at least a year is totally true and well thought out---not positivity wrapped in conserves thinking!

looking back at good old Frankie D. (Roosevelt, that is). He established the CCC camps and WPA to put unemployed people to work. They planted trees, worked on the infrastructure, did whatever was needed. Gave people a salary and accomplished much. This would only work if done correctly. This is probably what this country should have been doing all along instead of free hand-outs. Giving people money, etc without out any outlay from them only teaches people to expect something for nothing and destroys any incentive. I feel this is why we now have a nation only too ready to put their hands out instead of putting those hands to work. There is much work needed throughout this country. People probably woudn't even need to leave their own communities. There is much to be done and instead of just throwing money away on big companies and high salaried and bonused executives-use this money to repair our sewer systems, our roads, our forests, our dams and on and on. This will benefit people now and our children and their children. As it now stands, we are throwing money down a bottomless pit with near to nothing to show for it and our children and their children will be left with terrible debt and crumbling (if not already crumbled) infrastructure. Put people and the money to work--a win win situation. Or is this to simple for the powers to be to understand or have we become so much of a welfare country that the idea of putting people to work is too upsetting??

The only thing that ever changes in Washington is the names of the buffoons we let run us into the ground. No matter who wins these elections the American people continue to lose.

Who betrayed this country? A year ago, a certain political party told us repeatedly that there WAS NO RECESSION. One famous economic advisor for a particular Republican called it a "mental recession." These folks hid the problems like Berny Madoff so we wouldn't notice. And then it was too late. The recession economists say started in November or December of 2007 was finally too severe to ignore.

So who is the betrayer? The doctor who tells you you have a malignant tumor that needs to be removed, or the doctor that lies to your face and tells you that you are fine, so that you, temporarily, are free from worry and treatment?

Digest that.

The Fierce Urgency of Pork

"A failure to act, and act now, will turn crisis into a catastrophe."

-- President Obama, Feb. 4.

Catastrophe, mind you. So much for the president who in his inaugural address two weeks earlier declared "we have chosen hope over fear." Until, that is, you need fear to pass a bill.

And so much for the promise to banish the money changers and influence peddlers from the temple. An ostentatious executive order banning lobbyists was immediately followed by the nomination of at least a dozen current or former lobbyists to high position. Followed by a Treasury secretary who allegedly couldn't understand the payroll tax provisions in his 1040. Followed by Tom Daschle, who had to fall on his sword according to the new Washington rule that no Cabinet can have more than one tax delinquent."

Go trace the political contributions from most of these bankrupt and corrupt institutions and see which party got their pockets stuffed the fattest. Bush did have many failures in his presidency. But it is becoming very apparent that Obama desires to trump those of his predecessor.

Understand that Bush had plenty of help and support in denying or ignoring many of causes that have severely stressed our economy and forced us to where we are now. And this damned, so-called economic stimulus package will accelerate our road to economic demise in the not so distant future.

And there is some truth to the term 'Mental Recession'. I have cut out much stimulating spending in my business, laid off 3 people, curtailed many personal purchases, and directed my habits to save, hoard and become defensive. People all across our doing the same thing. My families self preservation is more important than flying on trips, buying that new plasma for the basment, buying Mrs. Git a new vehicle this year or probably next, etc., etc. The term Mental Recession is more real than the term dubbed "Obama's Economic Stimulus Package".

You'd best start reading Bonk's posts. I think he took that a bit personally.

"Bush did have many failures in his presidency. But it is becoming very apparent that Obama desires to trump those of his predecessor."

"And this damned, so-called economic stimulus package will accelerate our road to economic demise in the not so distant future."

Git, you are a conservative. You did not support President Obama or his political allies. I understand that. I also understand that he has been the POTUS for 18 DAYS. 18. If your crystal ball tells you that President Obama is going to "trump" the failures of former President Bush, and you can see that clearly in the first 18 days of his presidency, I sure wish you had produced that crystal ball in 2004 when we, as a nation, re-elected Bush 43. We could have used your insight and foresight then.

As for me and many Americans, we voted for President Obama for a reason. We did not like the economic policies and foreign policies of the previous administration. So, you will understand if we are willing to give our President more than 18 days before declaring, with certainty, that his economic policies are a failure. I'm not asking you to join us, I'm just letting you know we're here.

As for the efficacy of this financial recovery package, Nobel Prize winning Economist, and Princeton Economic Professor Paul Krugman disagrees with you. Now, he is JUST an economist, but it is often valuable to have an opinion from someone who's life is studying economies.

As for this whole FEAR MONGERING nonsense that our dearest liberal "Mr. Garvin" is shoveling onto the boards with his normal Obama obsessions, GOP Senator Jon Kyl of Arizona disagrees with "fred." Senator Kyl said very clearly on the floor of The Senate today that, though he disagrees with the President on many issues in this bill, HE DOES NOT BELIEVE the President is fear mongering. As I listened to the eloquence and reason of Senator Kyl, I realized that Republicans nominated the wrong Senator from Arizona for the office of the presidency. Jon Kyl is the real deal! I can't overemphasize how much I like this guy. As he took issue with President Obama's partisan words all while quoting the President's own words from his inauguration, I could not help but think that this guy is the GOP's future. But he is a bit gray. Enough ramblings. Let's go outside and play with our kids!

If your crystal ball tells you that President Obama is going to "trump" the failures of former President Bush, and you can see that clearly in the first 18 days of his presidency,

It's an easy one to foresee. It doesn't take a crystal ball to realize that pissing away billions of dollars on growing government programs is only going to worsen the problem. It resembles a family that is struggling to make their house payment on a home they never could afford in the first place. Instead of making payments toward the principal (infrastructure), they instead choose to solve their problem by purchasing lottery tickets, taking trips to Disney, eating out all the time, buying their kids the latest and greatest whatever in order to keep up with the other kids, etc., et al.

That is exactly what Obama has foisted up us all. He is growing the very institution which has contributed mightily to our current economic demise. 18 days or 3 years.... the time is irrelevant. This pork package is not going to help this country, but instead will increase our suffering shortly down the road. And you are right.... My common sense somehow just will not allow me to "join you" in supporting this foolishness. And I don't give a rat's a$$ which jerk is in control. We already experienced Bush's wasteful spending attempts to stimulate this economy via the same foolish methods albeit in lesser doses but equally as hefty a price tag and now we get to watch Obama replicate the same idiocy.

I sure wish you had produced that crystal ball in 2004 when we, as a nation, re-elected Bush 43. We could have used your insight and foresight then.

Actually I did. Bush has never been my choice for POTUS. I only picked him over that wacko Gore and the other idiot he barely beat. I realized Bush was morphing into one of you guys when he passed that BS Medicare bill.

Kyl... Whatever.... Kennedy, Kyl, Pelosi, Obama, Westmoreland, Reid, McCain.... They all need to be tarred and feathered.
