Baby Kroger

Athens has a 2nd gym moving into a former grocery store front. Could baby Kroger be a suitable site for a gym? We already have one PTC gym in the Aberdeen Center where a small grocery used to be.

Kroger controls the lease. They are never going to let another competitor in that spot. It’s about 30 days till Kroger closes, has there been further word of their plans?

What other suitable users are likely going to be interested in that location? It is a great location. But we have a lousy economy and lots of empty retail space around town. Will this turn into another darkened storefront?

The future of Baby Kroger

What will it grow up to be:

We already have 3 gyms. If we citizens get to decide I'm voting for a bowling alley (Paid for by Kroger as thanks to PTC for years of support). But, we are really just talking day dreams here.
