***Update-4:52 p.m.*** Atlanta Police have confirmed that they are working with Peachtree City Police in an attempt to locate relatives of the 29-year-old woman found dead Sunday in a vehicle in northwest Atlanta, according to Atlanta Police spokesperson Officer James Polite.

The victim's name is being withheld until relatives can be notified, Polite said.

Polite said the sport-utility vehicle is registered to a family member residing in Peachtree City. Contrary to some media reports, Polite said there is no reason to believe that other victims may exist.

Polite also confirmed at investigators have come to no conclusion as to whether the woman died in the vehicle or at another location. He did confirm that the SUV was found in the rear of an apartment complex on Neal Street in northwest Atlanta.

Atlanta Police are investigating the shooting death of a 29 year-old woman whose body was discovered in a sport-utility vehicle Sunday at a Neal Street residence. Police believe she was from the Peachtree City area. Investigators have not released the woman’s name pending notification of next of kin.

Atlanta Police spokesperson Officer James Polite said a passer-by Sunday discovered the body of the 29 year-old black female in a Saturn SUV located at 938 Neal Street. The woman's death appears to have been caused from a gunshot wound to the upper torso, Polite said.

Polite said the investigation is ongoing as detectives attempt to determine other aspects of the case, such as the events that led to her death and why the vehicle was in that particular neighborhood.

Life is worth more than losing it like this. Please tell me she wasn't buying drugs in "that particular neighborhood".

I would not put any culpability on the deceased yet. Remember the wonderful Ted Bundy. He would victimize the sweetest of women; women who were willing to help a "disabled" man in need, only to be ambushed and taken Lord knows where for Lord knows what. As of now, this is a horrible waste of life; one that happens so often in this country of ours. What is wrong with people, man?????

Take care, and have a great week with the Gitletts and Mrs. Git

There you go again. You're a sharp guy so I don't think that needs an explanation.
