When the Inflation Comes

Local governments who live on sales tax
Are complaining now of a drop in revenue
Soon those retail prices fall into cracks
So high they will go into the blue!

Why you say will such a thing happen
The more money printed, values get coned
What was ten dollars will be a rappin'
The more dollars there are the more owned

So once prices are stretched to the sky
The sales taxes will flow again like water
Even though our goods will be sky high
Causing the poor to get hotter and hotter.

It is my urgent and current concern
That ignorant as we were we won't learn.

Nitpickers: Inflation to come

Well you are correct. we can't print 20-30 Trillion dollars above income over ten or so years without inflation following.

This time however the inflation will be terrible.
It hasn't really gotten started yet due to the government financing everything with fake money, but it will soon.

Right now food is the worst offender, or maybe local taxes!

If we don't get some "widgets" to manufacture pretty soon that others want to buy (not long sleeved blankets, or old records, or George Foreman's)we are doomed.
Paper work will not do us much longer as jobs.

How many of you out there actually "make" a product in a factory?

Lockheed doesn't count--that is tax money!

Not me, when I'm not bartending I'm painting on walls that have already been built. I have an uncle in Indiana that works for Toyota but other than that I don't know anyone that MAKES something.

Any idea when this inflation will hit? I have a bad feeling that it may come just when unemployment is at it's height - the Perfect Storm.

I'm sure I could use a "widget". I don't know what a widget does but I'll bet I could use one. Smiling
