Republicans right on schedule!

Every last single one of em voted against the new stimulus bill. It passed anyway and 11 dems even voted against it----probably up for election this fall or next!

Now it is the Senate's turn to change the bill somewhat (stuff Obama's people put in that can be canned)then vote for it mostly. It will pass there also.

Now back to House conference for approval again.

This time those republicans not up for election will vote for it in order to get something they want!

They did the same thing about the first stimulus for the banks!!!

Worse than Haggard type preachers and hypocrisy!

so they feel pretty safe in voting down as they come from what they assume are safe districts and are pretty conservative

QUESTION IS WILL LYNN WESTMORELAND NOW REFUSE ANY STIMULUS FOR HIS DISTRICT?
Per Congressional estimates - What Georgia stands to gain from the proposed economic recovery plan now before Congress
K-12 EDUCATION
School construction, 2009: $446 million

Title 1 increases, 2009: $80 million
Total, 2009: $789 million
Title 1 increases, 2010: $80 million
Total, 2010: $378 million
Two-year total: $1.17 billion

TRANSPORTATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE
Highways and bridges: $1.05 billion
Transit capital grants: $121 million
Fixed guideway modernization: $48 million
Water and sewer projects: $98 million

Total: $1.31 billion

MEDICAID
Increased federal match, 2009: $358 million
Increased federal match, 2010: $384 million

PUBLIC SAFETY
Justice Assistance Grants: $90 million

We don't want our share ?
Would we rather have no Federal contribution and run deficits in our budgets ? The state’s Medicaid program, currently facing a $208 million hole, could see an influx of $358 million this year and $384 million in 2010 through increased federal matching funds, according to the analysis.

Or would we rather just have tax cuts ?? Having 2 adult members of the family unemployed I think we like most would just prefer to have jobs.
