A Riverdale man was arrested Jan. 22 after stealing a Blu-ray disc player at the Best Buy store at Fayette Pavilion. He was detained by store personnel until officers could arrive.

Dominic Maurice Flowers, 22, was charged with shoplifting and simple battery in the incident, said Fayetteville Police spokesperson Steve Crawshaw.

Crawshaw said a loss prevention officer saw three men enter the store and, a short time later, two of the men left. The third man, Flowers, grabbed a Blu-ray disc player off a display rack and began walking toward the front door, said Crawshaw.

The loss prevention officer attempted to stop him, but Flowers began to push the in-store security staff, said Crawshaw. Another individual came to assist the security staff and the two detained Flowers until Fayetteville officers arrived. He was arrested without incident.

Flowers was found with another Blu-ray player concealed in his clothing, Crawshaw said. The player was valued at $399.

I wish riverdale would cater to the gay community and let them move into riverdale and really clean the place up and make it somewhere nice like they did with grant park.

Or should I say, TERRORDALE. I cannot believe how bad the pavillion is getting. I used to enjoy going to the movie theather there, but now is full of no-good individuals.

Customer service is terrible, worst than ever. Attendants at stores are always giving attitudes and/or talking on cellphones while at the register of non-mentioned store.

We should just demolish the whole place and build a nature-reserve park. Oh, wait. That might be a great meeting place for drug dealers in between counties.

Go Dawgs!

We need 2 police cars parked at the county line on all major roads leading into the county(from Clayton or Fulton counties).
Call it the Fayette county welcome wagon(hey maybe a paddy wagon out there too).
There was a day when the criminal element was afraid of this county. We need to get that back!!!!!!!

Love simply, Love generously,
Care deeply, Speak kindly and
Leave the rest to God.

We could build a wall.

then the favorite activity would be painting graffiti and finding different ways to get around the wall! Or perhaps stealing the wall for their personal use.

BTW, this may be a good place to talk about walls - I've noticed several homes (on my way home from downtown Atl and through several counties)homes I would call 'rich folk'; they seem to be fortifying their property. More security being installed, more wall, more fence, more lights . . .I'm wondering what these 'rich folk' know that the rest of us do not.
