A Riverdale man was arrested Jan. 22 after stealing a Blu-ray disc player at the Best Buy store at Fayette Pavilion. He was detained by store personnel until officers could arrive. Dominic Maurice Flowers, 22, was charged with shoplifting and simple battery in the incident, said Fayetteville Police spokesperson Steve Crawshaw. Crawshaw said a loss prevention officer saw three men enter the store and, a short time later, two of the men left. The third man, Flowers, grabbed a Blu-ray disc player off a display rack and began walking toward the front door, said Crawshaw. The loss prevention officer attempted to stop him, but Flowers began to push the in-store security staff, said Crawshaw. Another individual came to assist the security staff and the two detained Flowers until Fayetteville officers arrived. He was arrested without incident. Flowers was found with another Blu-ray player concealed in his clothing, Crawshaw said. The player was valued at $399. login to post comments |
