The Key to Limbaugh's Success: Drug Side-Effect?

Palin500A.D.'s picture

"Several years ago when Rush Limbaugh got busted for doctor-shopping to feed his Oxycontin addiction most of the commentary focused on his hypocrisy: wanting prison for addicts but trying to stay out of jail himself.

Just out of curiosity I looked up Oxycontin in the PDR (Physician's Desk Reference) and discovered that one of the listed side-effects was "abnormal thoughts." Given the enormous quantity of Oxycontin he apparently consumed perhaps he had so many abnormal thoughts that it would be reasonable to assume he suffered from "abnormal ideology.""

So Oxycontin might explain to some extent Rush's irrational blathering, but what's the excuse for the rest of the radical, conservative, right wing population?

Can't speak for the radicals or the right wing, but I sure can answer for conservatives.

We conservatives exist because we have logic, education (which is anything other than being an English major), a strong work ethic and an instinctive feel for what is right and wrong.

Also we support smaller government, but that horse left the barn years ago - with both parties to blame. And by the way, conservatives and Republicans are not the same thing. The Republican Party, McCain, Palin and the right wing nut jobs who want to dictate morality are not part of this conservative's world.

We should probably have 3 political parties - the loony left who will fight for abortion "rights" and welfare for any reason; the religious right who will tell you how you must run your life; and then those in the middle than can debate everything else without the influence of the extremists on the left and right.

Limbaugh is an entertainer, by the way. Just like Babs and Bono and Alex Baldwin. Don't listen if you don't like him (or them), but don't tell me I can't listen if I want.

Well thought out response.. sad it is going on deaf ears. Way to far up the old arse to listen..
But keep up the good fight.. Support what we can and decry the rest..
