Job LossesThe government says at this given moment that 7.2% is the unemployment number---that is one in about fourteen who wants a job who has none! Now we know that they don't count those who are not on unemployment compensation any longer in this group of unemployed. Many of those gave up looking for a job long ago. Part-timers also are not counted as partially unemployed! Nor are under-employed people. Nor underpaid people! There are now many of those far above the normal amount as an average. And usually women don't count who work off and on! Also many teenagers would like to work but can't nor can they draw unemployment compensation! Counting prisoners, hospital patients, crazy people, military, and people paid by taxes, and retired and hurt people, we get down to about 30% of us work force supports the other 70% (including the children)! Heck if we only have 7.2% unemployment we are in mighty good shape! Nitpickers's blog | login to post comments |
