Dubious FCBOE "savings"

sniffles5's picture

One of the savings proposals presented to the FCBOE back in June was to "reduce the secretarial staff at the county administrative office".

On the surface, that seems entirely plausible, right?

This proposal was modified in December.

The proposal now reads "reduce the secretarial staff at the county administrative office by having them transfer to Indian Rivers school when it opens".

Some "savings".

I found this buried in a consultant's report that the FCBOE commissioned.

... at least the County Office Administrators subconsciously acknowledge that they have a larger secretarial staff than they actually need.

Growth of this magnitude will take time my friend!

Ughhh.

I've always felt that serving on the board was a community service therefore I believe that bord members salaries are not necessary. I am now asking the board members to recind their entire salary until this crisis is over. Remember this is not a full time job but it is a citizen VOLUNTEERING his or her services. Lets see how serious they are about saving money! If anyone agrees with me please reply and show your support and lets get the ball rolling.
