If giving to others is near the top of your New Year's resolutions, look no further.

The American Red Cross is hosting a blood drive Friday at the Gathering Place recreation center in Peachtree City from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. In Newnan they're hosting a blood drive Friday at Newnan Hospital from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Because one unit of blood can be separated into three components, one blood donation may help save up to 3 lives. Donors are eligible to give every 56 days.

Donors must be 17 or older (or 16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds and have about an hour to spare.
