An Atlanta man got a gift of his own Saturday when Toys”R”Us at Fayette Pavilion decided not to press charges after he stole several items, police said. But Marcus Beauford still went to jail over an outstanding warrant issued by Riverdale Police.

Beauford, 38, was walking out of the toy store carrying a bag of items, said Fayetteville Police spokesperson Glenn Askew. An alert employee approached cashiers asking if he had paid for the items, said Askew. Police were called when it was determined that Beauford had not made a purchase in the store, Askew said.

Beauford was still in the parking lot with the items when police arrived, said Askew. The bag was returned to the store, though the Toys”R”Us did not want to prosecute, Askew said. Beauford was arrested on the outstanding warrant.

They don't prosecute shoplifters either from what I have heard.

This is why the crime-a-villion is out of control. Weak liberal bedwetters who don't want to press charges.

When I moved to Fayette County criminals actually were afraid of our DA and judges. Not any more. Its a shame.

No wonder the clayton thugs feel so cozy here.

Home Depot is NOT an organization that I would call a "weak liberal bedwetter"!

To the contrary, Home Depot has a documented record of supporting some of the extremist conservatives in America today such as Senator Inhofe and Ohio's nasty Mean Jean Schmidt. LINK

As such, I believe "weak conservative bedwetters" would be a more apt description!

I emplore everyone who reads this to not patronize this store. They come to our community to take our money, which we glady spend in theyre establishment. Yet do not even care about the saftey of the people who shop in the store or live in the community nice... What happens next time when someone gets shot or worse will they press charges then, or figure let someone else worry about it. Fortunately in this case riverdale learned thier lesson in the 80s and 90s and now arrest people for shoplifting, could it be thats why theyre coming to our community now this is just a test of the waters. Once word gets back to the hood the locust will follow...GOD BLESS...

ATTENTION ALL SHOPLIFTERS IN SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES COME ON DOWN AN GET YOUR GET OUT OF JAIL FREE CARD, BECAUSE NO ONE WANTS TO GET INVOLVED OR IN THIS CASE DO THEYRE JOB, PATHETIC... I wonder if the solicitors office could charge the manager with BEING IGNORANT AFTER THE FACT OR BEING AN ACCESSORY AFTER THE FACT. Either the manager was in on it or should be fired immediately for being incompetent. TURN THAT FROWN UPSIDE DOWN, and my property value as well. MERRY CHRISTMAS...GOD BLESS...

There's a Christmas sale at Toys-R-Us in Fayetteville. Take what you want for free, if you get caught you just have to give it back.
