A Peachtree City woman, Shannon Michelle Shuvanni, 26, was arrested Dec. 20 on six counts of forgery, with additional charges possible, according to Peachtree City Police spokesperson Rosanna Dove. Peachtree City Police said the arrest was in connection with a number of recent thefts from residential mailboxes. Dove said a search warrant was served Dec. 19 at Shuvanni’s Peachtree Stations Circle residence in relation to the thefts. Officers at Shuvanni’s residence recovered a number of items linked to mail stolen from residential mailboxes in late November and early December. While at Shuvanni’s residence, investigators also collected merchandise, some of which had been gift wrapped for the holidays, that had been purchased with recently ordered bank checks stolen from a mailbox, Dove said. Police began receiving information earlier in the month from residents about missing mail. On Dec. 10 a bag containing delivered mail from Hampton Green and Morallion Hills subdivisions was found behind Peachtree East Shopping Center on Ga. Highway 54. And approximately two weeks prior to those thefts, residents of Rockspray Ridge and Summer Brooke subdivisions reported similar mail thefts, Dove said. Dove said the investigation is ongoing and that more charges for related mail thefts and forgeries are anticipated. Anyone with information relating to this case is asked to contact the Peachtree City Police Criminal Investigations Division at 770-631-2510. login to post comments |
