Part-time temporary workers are being sought to help administer the U.S. Census starting next year.

Most of the positions require working evenings and weekends. Potential employees must take a test at a selected date and time.

Test sessions last between two and a half to three hours but applicants only have 30 minutes to complete the test.

Participants must call 1-866-861-2010 to reserve their spot at a testing session. On the site they must show their driver’s license and social security card or passport.

Hourly pay rate ranges from $12.25 and $20 an hour based on position and location.

The employment test consists of 28 multiple-choice questions designed to measure the skills and abilities required to perform a variety of census jobs, such as: clerical skills, reading, number skills, interpreting information and evaluations alternatives and organizational skills.

A practice test is available online at www.2010censusjobs.gov by clicking on the link to “documents” and then the link for “Census Practice Test.”

The tests are being offered at:
• The Freeman Sasser Building in Senoia Monday, Dec. 22 at 10 a.m.; and
• The Fayette County Library in Fayetteville Monday, Dec. 29 with the standard test at 10 a.m. and the supervisory test at 1 p.m.

Sending the census papers or calling the registerd owner of the property. Does not warrant an accurate count by any means of a county, when the occupants of the house in question are renters, who have all theyre freinds and amigos living with them in a house zoned single family residential... MEANING "if you are not an immediate family member of the person on the lease you are not allowed to reside at that location for more than two weeks at a time... Know your neighbors preserve your property values, and security. Notify your local code enforcement agency if you notice large groups pf people coming and going from a single family residence I:E cars parked on grass, street, people coming, going allhours of day and night. IF IT DOES NOT LOOK RIGHT IT PROBABLY IS NOT. TAKE ACTION SAVE YOUR COMMUNITY BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE...GOD BLESS

A test, for a Census worker? I would assume you need to know how to count. Smiling

No, counting is not one of the requirements. Just write down the number they tell you as to how many live there.

They ain't never all home anyways. The Mexican conclaves with rack beds won't answer the door.

It will be wrong whatever they do. It always is. Lawsuits start with the count announcement.

They are looking for "logical" people it seems, and of course republicans in Fayette County. That of course is an oxymoron.

All the personalities that now live in that little head, wonder what happens when Christmas past, et al begin to visit!

I've been known to talk to myself, answer myself, and sometimes I even say huh? But to put names to it and argue with myself in public . . . .shaking my head.
