Peachtree City Police are looking for a man who attempted to steal a flat-screen television and an Xbox 360 Wednesday from the Kedron Kroger grocery store. A flat-screen television was stolen three days earlier at the same store in a similar incident. In the Dec. 10 incident, a man described as a black male weighing approximately 160 pounds and 6’4” in height pushed a grocery cart through a closed check-out aisle at approximately 2:45 p.m. The man turned and proceeded to the other side of the store to the entrance near the produce department, said Peachtree City Police Public Information Officer Rosanna Dove. He was about to exit the store when he was stopped by a manager asking to see his receipt, Dove said. The man appeared to fumble for the receipt then ran out the door empty-handed, Dove said. The grocery cart was found to contain a flat-screen and an Xbox 360 covered with quantities of toilet paper and hand towels, she said. Dove said police were called to the north Peachtee City Kroger as the man fled across the parking lot in the direction of Ga. Highway 74. The man possibly entered a brown 4-door car similar in style to a Hyundai, Dove said. In a similar type incident, three days earlier on Dec. 7, and at approximately the same time of day, the same store was successfully robbed of an Apex 19” LCD TV, Dove said. The man was described as a black male in is 20s-30s, said Dove. Police are following up on leads from both incidents and are examining the store’s video records. login to post comments |
