Threatened to shoot one man if he tried to leave

The owner of a Peachtree City jewelry shop was arrested last week for taking customer dissatisfaction to a new level.

William Samaniego, owner of MGR Jewelers in the Kedron Village shopping center, became upset Wednesday afternoon at two contractors representing AT&T who were attempting to sell him a business plan for the store, police said.

Apparently Samaniego was upset about the plan he had purchased for his other store in Union City, police said. At first Samaniego asked for the contractors’ personal information and when they only gave him the AT&T contact number he pulled a 9mm Smith and Wesson handgun on both men, police said.

One of the men ran out of the store while the other froze when Samaniego said, “If you try to leave I will shoot you,” police said.

Samaniego was apprehended without difficulty by officers, who charged him with aggravated assault and kidnapping, police said.

The incident was originally reported at 4:20 p.m. as a 911 hang-up but dispatchers were able to confirm a dispute was ongoing before officers arrived, police said.

The contractors were employees of Wentworth Marketing Company and were not agents of AT&T, police said.

When you gotta shoot a phone solicitor to make it clear that your 'no' means 'NO'. Fortunately I have a staff who rids me of these clowns. Now if I can only find a way to zap some of the unscrupulous clowns that lie their way past my receptionist. The other day one got through by telling her there was a family emergency I needed to know about. He got through and attempted to sell me some investments. Now tell me he didn't deserve to be shot. Evil

Those guys selling those plans can be such pains.

I don't claim to know this storeowner. You might.

Dawn, my name is Bubba. I carry a gun everywhere I go in Fayette Co. I'm licensed and trained to use it in the defense of myself and my family members. Nice to meet you.

I've encountered lots of sales people who fully deserved to be shot - not just pointed at. These two were probably about as bad as the typical car salesman.

Alright! Now hold it right there, why do you have to pull the "Car Salesperson" card!!

I'm just say'n...

The only time you pull a gun is to defend your life.!!!!!

Hopefully they will throw this jerk in with the general population. Let's let the theory of evolution work for us.

Another shop in Union City?? Gee, we are really talking high quality stuff here.......

It's sad that stories like this give liberal whiners like mapleflower child a way to lump all gun owners into one category, and call them names.
Whatever.....

In a previous blog about the Second Amendment, we were entertained by PTC Avenger to a never-ending essay about how great it is we can all have guns.

Naturally I branded PTC Avenger and his ilk as nuts.

Then skyspy, dawn69 and Mike King chimed in in support of Bubba, when I pointed out how guns can get you in more trouble than they can take you out of, and how Bubba loves guns.

Now we have one Bubba in trouble for using a gun. (Hey, guys, we’re talking aggravated assault, one to twenty years.)

Won’t Bubba ever learn?

Personally, I don't know anyone named Bubba. You must be stereotyping - how very narrow minded of you. You really should expand your mind a little- try to be liberal for God's sake.

Like I said before, if we Bubba type Americans are so disgusting to you, please feel free to go on up to Canada.

Hey, it’s not because somebody wants to go to the United States that the United States will let them in. Ditto with Canada. They don’t accept Americans trying to get in with guns, and they are restrictive about the others. Tell them you want to go live there forever, and you’ll stay south of the border. If you’re Mexican and tell a U.S. Border agent you’re coming in to stay, he won’t let you in. You’ll have to sneak in through the fence. So forget about my going to Canada, it can’t be done. (Gun-toting nitwits have funny ideas about a lot of things.)

So far as guns are concerned, I have read more reports of children finding guns at home and shooting one another than I have of people successfully defending themselves from an attacker. I have also read reports of drunk neighbors getting shot trying to get into the wrong house. Guns can cause more trouble than they’re worth. The Second Amendment was adopted in 1791, long before you could pick up a phone and call the cops. It’s obsolete and even ridiculous.

So far as my right to bear arms not being infringed, my right to bear arms is infringed each time I go to the State Capitol or a courthouse or the airport. In fact, more than my right to bear arms is infringed each time I go to the airport. My right to take a bottle of water or even a nail file is infringed, all that so I can be protected from the nuts with guns.

Mapleleaf, your points are valid and yes even the best of intentioned gun owners end up as the victims of the business end of what it is they're trying to maintain. Guns and self defense to many Americans run hand in hand and I would agree that a reasoned mind and being physically capable of protecting one's self would negate the overwhelming majoity of gun instances.

Those of us who fervently support the right of gun ownership would agree that many Americans simply do not possess the mental acumen of gun ownership. Laws can restrict the law abiding among us from gun ownership, but those same laws are ignored by the criminal element within our society. When those bad guys are stripped of gun ownership, then come talk to me.

I am a gun owner--just in case. I learned to shoot them once upon a time and can still do it.
I never carry them away from the home unless for practice. No even in the auto.
I have yet in a long life needed a gun to shoot someone. (well, other than military) I do prescribe to the theory however, that if you pull your gun, have a target in mind and use it immediately. Just exactly like fist fighting, immediately get a two by four board and really thump them. Don't let some bozo beat on you!

I'm not sure what you are saying although it is in the usual military formation of: some for this and some for that.

Should we demand that all good citizens (you pick them, I suppose) be properly trained to use them so as not to get shot themselves, maybe?

It ain't never worked for several to have something that everyone wants! Earned or unearned!
Be they guns, money, clothes, women, religion, whiskey, beer, food, autos, pensions, health care, and children!

Gathering up the guns is exactly like gathering up the 40 million illegals--can't and won't be done!

That is the liberal way.

People only fear what they have no knowledge of. Instead of taking an NRA safety class, and becoming educated it is easier to call people bubba.

I just want to let you know that you are not alone in your views about guns.

I share your views and many others do also.

You will not win any arguments with the gun lovers on this site. They are absolute believers in the NRA propaganda. Guns are like a religion to them--a matter of absolute faith.

They are convinced that Obama will show up soon, knocking on their doors to confiscate their guns. Could happen any day after January 20, 2009.

They are afraid to go to WalMart, Target, their favorite restaurants, or any park without their trusty six-shooter with them.

They live in a sub-culture of fear that most of can not understand. They think that the rest of the community wants them to be Clint Eastwoods and save us from the evil-doers.

They have a fantasy life which most of us do not share.

So thanks for your posts. I am glad to have you as part of our community.

..absolutely believe everything the NRA says. (I'm not a member)

..pray to guns.

..believe that President elect Obama will be knocking at my door.

..worry about shopping where ever I want. (Within reason)

..live in a sub-culture of fear.

..have a fantasy life.

But I do...

..own guns.

..believe in the right to keep and bear arms.

..believe they're some that wish to take my guns.

..believe they're some that wants us all to conform to their beliefs.

So if I'm a Bubba because I want to keep my guns then, so be it. Call me "Bubba Cy" and I'll keep my guns. Eye-wink

Wow, you 2 sound so whiney/liberal like. Good for you. I'm glad you don't want to have the ability to protect your own lives or the lives of your family members if you have any.

Please, please, please, put signs on your property that declare your homes gun free zones. I want our poor little criminals (oooooppppps I mean our "differently specially, challenged" little people who don't want to work for a living), to know that your homes are safe to break into. I don't want our poor little criminals to be afraid of you. Please do everything you can to help them out.

If you lose a couple of people you love in the process....you know at least you have the comfort of knowing how liberal and smart you are not to own a gun for self-defense. That alone should give you comfort.
In order to further the "theory of evolution" the Darwin Society is giving away "Gun Free Zone" signs to every liberal who whines for one.
