Can someone tell me where this place is from the Highway 54 and Ebenezer road intersection? And are the prices less than $20 bucks per person?

That twenty dollars, might get you an appetizer and a drank, and leave you with a few buck left for tip.....BLESS

From hwy 54 turn right at the square and go south. It is next to Kroger or on the end of the strip mall that Kroger is in behind blockbuster.

Great food, great service. The prices are right, big portions. You will take home enough for 2 more meals. I usually go there with a large group of friends, and there is something for everyone on the menu.

As of April 5th, Latitude 33 is closed. We are currently looking for a new space, so I'll keep you informed when and if this happens. I want to thank those of you that gave us your business.

I'm sorry to hear that. It really was one of my favorites. Please let us all know of the new location.

Who do they think will go in that spot? Especially if they raise the rent. There are plenty of empty locations in PTC, I hope y'all come over here.

Submitted by winer on Thu, 04/09/2009 - 5:58pm.

What happened? It was on our short list for dinner tonight but met friends in Newnan instead! Is Kroger taking over the whole shopping center? Idiot landlord raising the rent when you'd end up with a Kroger gas station in the front yard?

We enjoyed every meal we had there. Literally- they only complaint we ever had was that the trivia guy's volume was occasionally too loud. Reasonable price, reasonable portions, enjoyable experience.
Sad I hope you can find a new location.

We went for the first time on Friday (it IS Lent) and had a great experience. Shrimp po' boy was non-New Orleans, but good, the rum runner was absolutely, totally fabulous!!!Great atmosphere, good service, and we will definitely be back. Dawn- if that was you behind the bar Friday, I am totally impressed.

I am so glad you enjoyed the restaurant. Yes, I was working Friday night. I'm the brunette. Chelsie (the gorgeous red head) works with me on Friday nights and is a wonderful young lady - she's fantastic! I don't know which of us made your rum runner, but since I trained her - I'll take the compliment either way. Thank you so much.

I hope to see you soon. Since you are obviously Catholic (you mentioned Lent), you should come in on Fridays for the fish - the Mahi and the Salmon are great - I like mine lemon peppered with a side of tums. Smiling

That doesnt even make sense. DAWN is the one that said the employees always call from jail....don't you screen these people before you hire them?? All I was saying is that I would rather not go to a place that is willing to hire these sorts of people. And on top of that, the service SUCKED! Thats all. I am a manager myself, and know that hiring good people is hard, but I still check them out first. I dont hire criminals.

dawn69's picture
Submitted by dawn69 on Mon, 03/16/2009 - 7:15pm.

Hey, JC, perhaps we should do F.B.I. background checks on our servers: you know, with all the infinite funds available for screening someone for a $2.50 job. It is hard to find good help, that's true for any business. All we can do is hire based on interview. Sometimes you get a good one and sometimes you don't. My mention of servers calling in from jail was a reference to past employees and not to anyone still employed. And...no, she did not get her D.U.I. leaving work.

Frankly, you can back track all you want to try and save grace, but the truth of it is that you do seem to have a personal axe to grind and really should refrain from using this forum to do your ill biding. After all, you could not have 'read her name on the police blotter' without knowing her full name. Despite her obvious mistake (she is 22 - no excuse, but we have all made mistakes in our youth) Chelsie is a good person with more potential and class than most that I've worked with. Criminals? I would hardly call her a criminal but would, without reservation, call you an ass.

I stand by my original post and hope that you do not come back to the restaurant. We could do without the likes of you who do nothing but smear hard working people. We, as a restaurant, are not perfect - but we're not as bad as you and a couple others make us out to be. Why is it that chain restaurants give crappy service and serve mediocre food, yet the masses will still go like starving sheep? Meanwhile, struggling privately owned establishments are raked over the coals on a regular basis.

Hutch, Cy, Git - I really appreciate you guys going to bat us. I'm sorry about the Fosters.

Submitted by JC05 on Mon, 03/16/2009 - 7:22pm.

I didnt say anything else about the bartender...yall keep bringing that up. Im sure she is a good person. So a person who gets a DUI isnt a criminal?? Im not smearing anyone. All I was trying to get across is that the service was not good. It took a while to get drinks ordered, and even longer to get them. It wasnt even that busy. The food too FOREVER and just wasnt worth the wait. Thats all I was trying to say. Other people have had this problem too, not just me. I have no personal axe to grind I can assure you.

Well, sir/madam, it seems to me that we could do without patrons like yourself. Please, don't come back. If you "read her name in the police blotter", then it appears that you know her and that this is more a personal attack than it is on the restaurant in general.

Yes, she did just get a DUI and knows that she was wrong and will have to pay for the mistake. Otherwise, Chelsie is a sweet, kind, intelligent young lady that is likely to go far in life - currently maintaining a 98 average in nursing school (radiology). Judging from your grammar in the above post, I would venture to guess that you've never made the grade in anything.

its not that. you said that alot of your employees call from jail. Your awsome talented bartender gets a dui, im sure she left work drunk. I just dont like those kinds of people serving my food. If the food is good, and the service is better, I will leave a $50 tip on a $30 bill. The fact is, the service sucks, the food is over priced and over rated, and the servers need to be re trained..alot. The food took way long to come out, and it basically just wasnt good. I did give it another chance, Ive been 3 times. Nothing against the dui bartender, I just wont EVER go back or let anyone I know go either.

Let me tell you about my experience there Friday night. We got there about 7:30 and ordered our food, the Mrs and I both ordered the popcorn shrimp, well when our salads arrived the waitress told us they wee out of the popcorn shrimp so we made another selection. After a while the waitress came and told Mrs. hutch they were out of the baked sweet potatoes, they weren't actually out but had run through all that were ready to eat, well Mrs hutch wasn't real happy here but decided on the asparagus and the food came out and it was all very good.
Awhile later the manager came up and sat down at our table, he said they hadn't done a very good job with us that night and apologized profusely, in his defense we did come in behind a very large and LOUD party who sucked up all the sweet taters in one swoop, but the manager informed us we were getting our bill halved in light of the trouble we had had.
When the bill got there we noticed an $11 mistake in our favor which, had not the manager been so nice, I most likely would have paid and been quiet about, but being the good guy that I am( insert ssarcastic remark here) I called it to the attention of the waitress and she took it back to the manager to be fixed, back she comes with it and said the manager said leave it like it was, so in the end I got three meals and two Coronas for the grand total of $12.68 including tax, and I hadn't even complained about anything.

Say what you will about Latitude 33, but they took care of us that night with being prodded to and earned some loyal customers in the process.

P.S. They had already given me a $50 gift certificate to be used as a prize in the FCHS golf tournament May 15th, so what more can you ask for in a local restaurant?

We had a disappointing experience last time we were there. I ordered my meal very specifically and was brought out a plate with 'sorry, we couldn't do what I said we could'. Seemed to me I should have been told that before being served the wrong thing!

I've never had the bartender make a good drink. Even after multiple attempts and multiple visits.

I really like the restaurant - location, ambiance, staff, food - all very nice, but the service could be more thoughtful.

Mysterman: I remember the gin/juice order (I think it was w/ O.J.). When the server sent the order to the bar, I remember questioning her "Are you sure that's right? I've never heard of anyone ordering gin with juice (usually tonic)." So, the server got that order wrong - not me. If I remember correctly, you sent the drink back and I promptly made your scotch on the rocks. I apologize for the mix up, I also remember which server it was and, while she's a pleasant person, she's not a great server.

In the restaurant business, patrons will tolerate mediocre food for great service but will not tolerate poor service for great food. We recognize the problems we have and are working to correct the situation (just hired two new servers - hope they work out).

I hear you on LaParilla. They have great food and service and my kids love the atmosphere.

Now, Zoes, I almost let your comment hurt my feelings, but was reminded by many of my regular patrons that my bar is packed most nights. I hate that you've had bad experiences at our establishment. Having a few people that hated their visit counteracts hundreds that loved it. I regret that you are so dissapointed with your "bar" service and hope that you come back soon.

Have a great day.

"Good help is hard to find".....

You can say that again, brother! We've been open one year now and have had three servers in the last year to call in due to incarceration - "Sorry, I can't come to work today, I'm in jail". My personal favorite: "Can you come get me and bring me to work, I'm too drunk to drive"!

We have weeded out most of the riff raff, though, and have a few really good servers that are wonderful people.....and we have a couple that are still wonderful people, but just aren't the brightest light in the shed. I guess the responsibility falls on us to train them better or get rid of them.

Thank you for your input. Hopefully we'll see you again. If not, have some cheese dip at LaParilla for me. Smiling

Is it true that Latitude 33 has closed?

Submitted by dollaradayandno... on Mon, 03/02/2009 - 6:21am.

One must run a "bar" or run a "restaurant with a bar."

The type of help hired determines that a great deal. Unreliable people with no social skills work in bars as waitresses or waiters.
Reliable people who are paid well and get tips work in restaurants with a bar!
It depends upon thew type of clientele one wishes to attract.

One type cleans the place from top to bottom every day in off hours---the other does not.
One type stays in business from yesterday's receipts--the other doesn't.

One type has pristine marbled restrooms--the other doesn't.

That is not to say that both types aren't needed. We have mostly one type in this area however. Those who want volume at a cheap price.

I started working in restaurants while still in college. Just before graduation my husband and I got married. We had planned to wait on having children. We were going to move to Virginia as I had plans to continue graduate school at Georgetown - they have an excellent museum studies program. Soon after graduation, we were expecting our first child - the lovely young lady in my avatar.

So, I postponed my plans and continued restaurant work because I could make a decent living while still being home with my child. Now I have two children and neither of them has ever stepped foot in a day care center.

I never intended to be doing this kind of work for this long, but, if you're not careful, life can slip through your fingers like sand. Now here I am, approaching 40, college educated, fairly intelligent, full of potential - wasting away in the profession that I have settled on. Don't get me wrong, I'm not whining. We make our own choices in life and my choices have always had my childrens best interest at heart - but they weren't what I wanted for myself.

I see your point about the 'unreliable' type that restaurants tend to attract. In my experience there are those that are losers, then there are those that are going to school, and then there are those that allowed life to slip by.

I'm cheerful though, my children are both in school now, and I've been thinking seriously about applying for a grant to go back to school. After all, 40 isn't THAT old is it? I like Emory - love the Michael C. Carlos museum - and they have a great art history program.

This failing economy could be the kick in the ass that I've needed to pursue something different.
