Last two times I've tried I've had some difficulty posting a link. Not sure what I'm messing up in the process, but it's fixed now. Again, sorry for the wild goose chases. I've been trying to use "emphasized" so the link shows up in blue, but haven't yet gotten it right.

The links do not change color for you because your computer previously navigated to the page.

But on my computer it DOES appear in color because my computer hasn't visited that page yet.

It took me a while to figure that out, so don't feel bad. Then again, they didn't have HTML and all this stuff when I was in journalism school Eye-wink

You caught me just before I drove myself nuts. Some may argue that conclusion but I don't care. Who me? Huh?

that was simply beautiful. I love that song...it was the first song I taught my daughter to play on the guitar. Thanks for posting.

I asked git last year if he had ever heard this rendition of this song and he said no, so here it is the best I've ever heard this sung www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIDLhJGDPUY. Sorry I can't just post a link.

I yam what I yam....Popeye

I see you have a daughter at MHS. I have a question for you. How do you feel MHS is with discipline, tough or not enough? I don't have a child who attends there, I'm just wanting a parent's opinion. Thx

Sorry about the confusion. My daughter is a middle-schooler and her chorus group just sang at McIntosh and doesn't attend there, yet.

I can't speak for McIntosh discipline, however, we've found the discipline imposed by teachers a bit extreme at times for the smallest of infractions at their own Elem. and Middle Schools. My kids have had "silent lunch" and "strikes" for things like giggling, eye rolling, sighing, a small hole in jeans. Once in grade school when my daughter's class was standing in line, she was startled when a big Roach bug ran across the floor. She was given a "strike" for her startled reaction to the nasty critter crawling across the floor. Some of the discipline I've seen is nonsensical and way too extreme, in my opinion.

What has been your experience?

sorry I misunderstood.

We don't live in the PTC area, but in another part of the county. I agree with your examples of your daughter's discipline experiences in elementary and middle school. My children experienced the same "heavy hand" at those school levels, but they've had a totally opposite experience in their high school. There is no consistent discipline for the same infraction; the teachers aren't consistently backed up by the Administration and the students have realized all this, too. I have been told McIntosh is quite strict, which is the type of school environment I want my children to learn in, instead of one where the teachers are so busy with problematic students, they have little time to teach.

I hope you have a much better high school experience than we have.

Oh Holy Night

I went to my daughters chorus concert at McIntosh last week and those kids sang beautifully. It seemed like just yesterday she was a baby, and then watching her on stage singing beautiful Christmas carols... I couldn't hold the tears back.

My daughter was in chorus for the four years that she was at McIntosh and I enjoyed every one of them so very much! I miss going to hear her and we still listen to the tapes that we have of her concerts. Enjoy them while you can--they grow up so fast!
