I finally followed your instructions and got myself an avatar. This is a portrait I did of my daughter. I love your avatar. Are you an artist too?

Don't you fellows forget that the lady astronauta dropped her makeup kit in space which floated off and up about a thousand miles!

Since those special tools probably won't burn in the reentry someday, someone may get bonked on the head!

It looks somewhat like a star or a meteor, doesn't it. Or do you guys have thousands invested in spy glasses?

My wife and I went on a cruise a couple weeks ago. Sailed into the western Caribbean. Beautiful stars in the sky were plentiful, since we had little light pollution to block even the most distant stars. While drinking wine on our balcony one evening, I looked into the east and saw a beautiful and colorful star, that I had never noticed before. I summed it up as being extra bright and colorful due to where I was at.

When we returned, I noticed that same star somewhere in the east, north east area of the sky, about 20 degrees off the horizon. I showed my other astronomical friends, and we pondered on what it was. I looked up sky charts to no avail.

Tonight, it was shining with numerous and distinct colors. It was wonderful, but I noticed Orion had moved significantly in the sky, while my star remained pretty close to where it had been. What exactly is it? Its too far to the east to be the space station, and if its a satellite, then its stationary, and why all the lights? Reds, blues and greens. Its very lovely.

One free Georgia Yuengling to the first person who can name that star light.

Could it be....the Death Star?

(Now I'm curious. I'll have a look off of my cruise ship balcony tonight and see if I can identify it.)

You are either that, or own a cruise ship. Are you ever home? You never needed a house to sell did you? Didn't you travel the whole USA last week? Florida before that? Stayed in the hospital a lot! More power to you.

No, not a death star but the lady astronaut's pocket book she lost!

I wish I were in the Caribbean. But, alas, I was only joking.

Hasn't the same things happened in the sky for many, many years--just on a timed basis that occurred either with the big blow-up or created pretty quickly?

Wasn't it a "Connecticut Yankee In King Arthur's Court," who predicted that he would darken the sky if the olden dudes didn't let up on him?

Pretty predictable stuff. What is interesting to me is what is beyond there that we have no ability to see!

It is beautiful out. Time for a glass of red and some good blues. Have a good night everyone.
