A Newnan man was arrested early Saturday evening after he was running after cars at the intersection of Ga. Highway 54 and Stevens Entry and threatening to kill people, police said.

Kenneth Eugene Rhea II, 19, of Daniel Road threatened to kill the first police officer that arrived on the scene, police said. First sitting on the curb, Rhea moved towards the patrol car and was yelling, police said.

Rhea refused the officers orders to get on the ground and after being sprayed with pepper spray he continued to fight even after four other officers arrived, police said.

Rhea was eventually handcuffed and treated for exposure to the pepper spray, which also affected the officers, police said. Rhea was also combative during his treatment, threatening the medics, police said.

Rhea continued to be “very combative” when two different officers placed him in a patrol car, police said. A nurse at the Fayette County Jail determined he was under the influence of an undetermined narcotic and needed hospital treatment, police said.

Officers took Rhea to Southern Regional Hospital where he became coherent and compliant after about four hours, police said.

Rhea was then taken back to the Fayette County Jail, police said. He is charged with seven counts of making terroristic threats, two counts of obstruction of a police officer, one count of disorderly conduct, six counts of simple assault, one count of criminal trespass and one count of being a pedestrian under the influence.

First I would like to say that this is my brother. Second off he's not a yahoo. He is just a young guy who made a bad bad mistake. Stop acting like you're all saints, at some point in your life you yourself have done something that could have landed you right where he is now, you just never got caught. My brother is a wonderful young man, he's very bright, my bestfriend, and just happened to have made one really bad mistake. I'm not saying what he did was right by any means, but "He who is without sin cast the first stone"... I Love Him and His Family is here to SUPPORT him, so pray for our family don't criticize us. We could all us prayer right now instead of dirty comments. Thank You

You become upset with people who comment on the very bad behavior of someone you care about. But step back from this for a moment. Take your brother's name off of the story.

A young man traumatized many people, including police officers, and did so with no provocation. These certainly could have been mothers with their children or the same teen drivers we worry about being distracted by cell phones. How does a guy chasing them and threatening their lives affect them? Did you stop and think about that?

You should not waste a minute of your life reading these blogs, because you need to be thanking God that a threatened concealed carrier didn't end your brother's life. You should spend this time explaining to your brother that the police would have been acting well within their sworn duty of protecting citizens to end your brother's life.

You need to explain to your brother that, just like many a four legged animal, playing in traffic often ends very badly.

Finally, you need to ask yourself this: In a county that has hundreds of thousands of people, if "everyone has done something like this," why do you think we've never heard of such bizarre behavior?

I'm glad your brother is alive! Truly. I'm glad our police officers were not injured (outside of pepper spray exposure) due to the terrible decisions your brother made. Help get him off of drugs or whatever had him going all moon-dawgy on the population, because he may not get a second chance.

Good luck. Honest!

Get him some treatment or you might just find yourself burying your brother soon. You and your family should be thankful that the PTC police didn't use deadly force when threatened like that. He's lucky that he only got pepper spray and a good butt whipping.

Um, your brother was threatening to kill people on the road while under the influence of drugs and had to be peppersprayed. He's a yahoo.

Yeah, your brother did a criminally stupid thing. I have never done something like that and I don't want to be lumped into your justification that everyone has done it. It is not true.

Get a handle on him or he will spin totally out of control. We can all pray for him, and should, but you need to exert some influence on him. Good luck to you. He needs a good brother to straighten him out and I am sure that you are.

The stopping power of a tazer doesn't last long and is, therefore, ineffective when someone is under the influence. Pepper spray is a much better option in this situation.

The feedback you would receive from those 638 horses as you carefully apply pressure to the throttle would send shivers up your spine! Kinda like loving you back. I too have a weakness for Corvettes. I rode in a Z06 the other day! Scary Fast!!
