Dividend RR crossing to close Dec. 3

Improvements to the railroad crossing on Dividend Drive near Aviation Way will result in the road being closed to all traffic from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3.

The work is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Dec. 2 but flaggers will be on hand to guide traffic through, officials said.

Aviation Way will not be impacted and will remain open even when the crossing is closed, officials said.

Subject: Dividend Drive Road Closure
Importance: High

Wanted to inform everyone I received a heads up from CSX.

They will start working on the at-grade crossing on Dividend Drive next to Aviation Way on December 1, 2008. They will have flaggers and will be able to let traffic pass. However they will need to close the crossing to all traffic on December 2, 2008 from 7am to 7pm.

I asked CSX about leaving open and they said due to the nature of the work they have no choice but to close to traffic during the above time. Aviation Way will not be impacted and will remain open.

Date may change due to weather etc and I will advise if I hear of changes.

In a matter of minutes after we got the first email (that you pasted above) we got a second one with the new date from Betsy Tyler at City Hall.

Apparently it was a change initiated by the CSX contractor.
