Suspicious person reported at PTC storeWed, 11/19/2008 - 2:20pm
By: John Munford
Peachtree City police are alerting the public about a suspicious person who may have been "casing" a local business for a future crime. The suspect entered the Blockbuster Video store on Crosstown Road recently, telling an employee his tires had been slashed, police said. The man asked if the parking lot was monitored by video surveillance, police said. But soon after the suspect was seen driving away in a green passenger car, perhaps a Toyota, police said. That called his story about the slashed tires into question, police said. The suspect was described as a black male about 6 feet tall and weighing 180 pounds with black dreadlocked hair that had light brown tips. The employee didn't think there was enough time for the man to change his tires before leaving the area, and he may have been trying to get information about video surveillance capabilities in the area. Anyone with information about this incident or other suspicious activity is asked to call Capt. Mike Claman at 770-487-8866, extension 1309. login to post comments |
