More victims feared as deputies seek leads A 70-year-old north Fayette man who posed as a CIA agent and an Army general was arrested last week on multiple counts of child molestation, sheriff’s deputies said. John William Harvey of 345 Greenview Circle, in the Landmark Village mobile home park, remained in jail Tuesday after he was denied bond on the case, officials said. Harvey is charged with nine counts of child molestation, one count of aggravated child molestation, eight counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes and one count of furnishing alcohol to a minor, deputies said. The incidents involved one victim and occurred over the course of one year, deputies said. The victim is a male under age 13 who does not live in the mobile home park, deputies said. Deputies believe Harvey was attempting to make contact with other children through the victim. Believing there are more victims who have not yet come forward, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is providing further details that might help those victims be identified. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call sheriff’s Det. Joshua Shelton at 770-716-4777. Numerous people interviewed by deputies confirmed that Harvey has told them he is an employee of the federal Central Intelligence Agency, and he has also claimed to be a doctor and a four-star Army general, officials said. Harvey has been seen in public wearing an Army general’s uniform and his vehicle has a tag on the front that reads “CIA.” He also has CIA and U.S. Department of Homeland Security decals on his mobile home, officials said. login to post comments |
