Hey Blogging Community AKA the Gang

Cyclist's picture

Hey Gang!!!!

Many of you have expressed a desire to donate money towards a gift to Wulfman. In keeping with Wulfman's wishes I would like to know if there is enough interest to get together this Saturday at the Starbucks in Fayetteville to drop off your donation and a possible group picture to send to him. I know that this might be difficult for some because of Thanksgiving so we could change the date. I'm looking at 10 AM?

I just want to let everyone know that the check was cashed last Wednesday. Many thanks to all of you. Lets see if we can make this a yearly or possibly a more frequent event. I know Wulfman is smiling.

I would love to join in, but I am on the road for Providence, RI and then on to Boston. I'll be in the latter on Saturday.

Not to worry, the freewheeling carbonunit will not be there. This will raise the prettiness factor and the average intelligence of the group substantially.

Here's a few links to local websites that are always in need of donations, whether it is money, gift cards to stores, food or clothing. With the downturn in the economy, many food banks are running low on food donations as well, so that is another thing we might want to donate to.

I'm open to anything really. Can't make it on Saturday, but just let us know where we can drop off donations....maybe the Citizen's office... would Cal allow that?

One of the suggestions for a donation was Joeys Toy Box, Joey was a little boy who dealt with cancer his entire life, and like our wulfman, thought of others before himself. To check out this charity go to joeystoybox.net, this young man is an inspiration.

I just found out my husbands cousin rode in the first Ride For Joeys Toy Box this past Saturday. The ride started at Big Daddy's Cycle World and ended in Newnan.

There was an article in the AJC Sunday about Joey. They do a lot of good things with donations. He was a special little fella.

I looked at this site about Joey. Seems like a good thing. Whatever y'all want to do is okay with me.
(I know that Southside Steve guy.) Smiling

A pleasure meeting you today Hutch!! Have you heard from Hack?

I believe the Joey's ToyBox would be great. Remember reading about the little boy. In all his pain and suffering he wanted to make sure other children undergoing cancer treatments would have toys, etc when they went to the hospital. No matter how sick he was he made sure he collected toys, etc for other children. Sadly, he lost his fight but his mother and others carry on his wish.

Count me in--I would not have a lot to give but will give willingly what I have. Tell me how to get it to you. I think a donation to this cause would thrill
Wulfman. This little Joey sounds a lot like Wulfman, don't you think? Unselfish and thinking of others.

Until last night, I haven't been blogging much the past two weeks. I am unaware of wulfman's plight. From the posts in this thread, I infer that he has cancer (?). Please inform. I haven't met any of you personally, but have really enjoyed the personalities on this site. I wish the best for wulfman.

I could make it to the Starbucks meeting. Please advise if this is the plan.
