Hypocrites, Mnemonic crutches, lean tos'

When we progressed from an Agricultural society to one of machinery and manufacturing, and then to communications technology, in each case many said it was the end of the great experiment in the USA! Just how long could we survive without each individual producing something of worth and value to someone?

It may not be that bad in the current situation, yet, but what does worry me is what we are doing to try and correct the situation without much pain and in too short of a time-frame.

We are now even concerned with just how we can get people out of monetary trouble for such things as college loans, credit card debt, home mortgages, auto companies, airlines, train companies, loan companies who aren't banks, (shysters-as bad as the banks), local businesses about to go under, developers who are sitting on empty property, and of course more checks from Washington for groceries.
Such foolishness is not Socialism as some are wont to say, but just plain unworkable foolishness; just the crutch to expand the time before all the money is gone and nothing has been saved.

Our economy is not only technology and communications we have discovered very recently; much of it is our banking and credit system. As long as there was no end to credit, we could give everyone a very high-paying job and pile up the debt!

The "Ponzi" scheme, as they all do eventually, finally reached it's zenith and exploded.

We were also taken in by hypocrites when asked to pass a bill in congress for a 700 billion dollar sum of money to buy out the banks and other ventures--not banks--bad debts, in hoping to sell them some day for maybe a government profit! Right!!
As I understood it also, we were to get some preferred stock for our money so we could at least collect some dividends on the loans!

Well, yesterday we discovered that, no, we weren't going to buy those toxic papers but would just give the banks the cash so they would loan it and get us going.
The banks bluffed them out! They wouldn't issue the stock to us--afraid they wouldn't have any dividends left for
them, and were not loaning anybody any money.
The administration buckled under to them and now will just give them the money, I suppose on a valueless note!
Only trouble is the first 350 billion is almost GONE, the administration wants the rest now.

There ain't enough money in the bank to bail this one out! Much suffering has to occur to be able to start over. Maybe we can avolid 25% unemployment and bread and soup lines. I hope so.

It doesn't matter just how much it costs!
Take alook at what I found (in Blogs--not in comments) concerning just how much money could be printed due to the amounts having a name!

It is entitled:

I just love it when all your personas talk to each other on this site? When this happens do they still have conversations in your head?
