For one moment lets take race out of the picture. White or black (or inter-racial) am I the ONLY one thats is a bit nervous knowing that America now has a new leader with the middle name "HUSSEIN"?
My mother use to tell me "What out for what you wish for"..........

Why the need to freak out? My middle name's Francis...doesn't mean that I'm gonna be the next greak film-maker (like Francis Ford Coppola). You're freaking out over a NAME.

News flash, highflyer: there are lots of people out there with the name "Hussein." Did you know that Hussein is actually Arabic for "handsome?" It's true. It's a very common name. Unfortunately, the only Hussein you've been exposed to is that dead guy from Iraq, so seeing as how close-minded you are, you must think that every single Hussein is exactly like that guy. Pathetic.

I really don't know where you got the "freaking out" part. I was just making a few mild points. I didn't even mention him dressing up in head bands and robes or even mention his wacked out preacher that wants to wipe out the white race!
Yeah, I'm closed minded and pathetic and have lived here in the USA for 55 years and guess what? I have NEVER known ANYONE that was born around here with the middle name HUSSEIN! but then again, I don't get out much. Keep your head up "Francis"......the next four years should be a BLAST!

At least blacks can't say that racism is as powerful as their "leaders" have been telling them for decades.

Give President Hussein a year in office and blacks will realize that just because their man got into office doesn't mean that they'll automatically become rich, prisons will empty and crime will vanish.

150 years after the civil war and the election of a black socialist president, the confederate states of america remain solid. In this 2008 election the south still voted for their beliefs and desires to separate from this federal government. Let's hope that the coming depression will cause the ununited states to break up and to give us our long desired freedom to live our lives as we choose.

The sound of a gunshot, followed by another, drew me outside to figure out the source. Then, what were clearly automatic rifles--not firecrackers--were heard peppering from all directions just to our north.

A peaceful calm and grateful joy has been expressed from friends and family from around the country and Newnan, Faytetteville, and other surrounding areas here in Georgia. McCain's speech was classic! I hope his supporters can exhibit his class, patriotism, and understanding. He is truly an American hero!

I feel confident in America's ability to move forward with grace.

My most recent experience with them was moments ago. It is a very distinctive sound, and I am not mistaken. These were guns fired (hopefully) into the air.

But, aw, heck. We've all done this at one election or another, right?
