Fayetteville police are investigating a suspicious package reported at the Fayette County Republican Party's headquarters in downtown Fayetteville.

The package was reported to police between 11:30 and noon today, and no one was hurt, police said. The building was evacuated as a precaution, police said.

Police declined to release details about the package and what made it suspicious but said this afternoon that the investigation was continuing.
