Obama Tells SF Chronicle He Will Bankrupt Coal Industry

"So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted."

Upon further review, it seems this "bankrupt Coal Industry" business was fabricated by none other than Matt Drudge, and given respectablity by Sarah Palin.

Keep trying, Fred/Sara!

Each day this guy comes out and says something else that has my head hurting. This is like a very bad movie, however it keeps playing over and over... I'm tied to the chair and I can't get loose.

UGH !!

I love this. The idea of clean-coal technology, which ultimately means cleaner air for all of us. And this is a baaaaad thing?

btw, about your tag line at the bottom regarding government workers....it is your beloved George W. Bush who has allowed unemployment to sky rocket in the private sector and a McCain/Palin administration would no doubt carry on Bush's failed policies that affect our jobs. Government workers are the lucky ones now.... because they have the jobs. Some of the best minds in the private sector are having to go into government because of YOUR guy.

The development of clean-coal technologies is not the issue. Didn't you listen to what he is saying? It's the hard cap he want's to place on the coal industry. The CCTechs can continue to be developed, as they have been, without Obama's influence or his money hungry hands in the industry.

In regard to OUR President Bush, history will prove your words wrong. I would take the time right now, but unfortunately, my employment status is requesting me, and I must continue my legitimate and substantial contribution to society. WOW, look at this, I have a job and it's not with government!

Here ya go darryl... a side by side comparison of Obama and McCain's "cap and trade" policies, which both candidates are advocating. McCain has a cap and trade plan as well to try and curb green house gas emissions:
