Here’s how to help local military families

Citizens of Fayette County, I am once again coming to you to ask for your support for the children of deployed soldiers.

I know these are difficult economic times for many of you, and I know we have all had to do some belt-tightening.

But our littlest soldiers did not create the world we live in. Now, more than ever, these children — who live with the uncertainty of when, or if, they will see their parents again, as well as the angst of the waiting parent — deserve to be wrapped in the joy and wonder that is Christmas.

Won’t you please find it in your hearts to help Embracing Military Families help ensure that they all have a Merry Christmas?

Each year, we hear from our men and women in uniform. They tell us how much it means to them to know that their children were thought of and taken care of while they were so far from home. Even a small contribution goes a long way toward putting smiles on the faces of these most deserving children.

Thank you so much for brightening their lives and may God bless you all. Feel free to contact me at 770-487-0672. Contributions can be mailed or dropped off at 202 Panstone Drive in Peachtree City.

Cathy McMullen

Chairman, Embracing Military Families

Thank you for your efforts. My wife's brother is a Marine. We always try to do special things to help his family and the families of all the armed forces. Bless your efforts!
