Starting at 8 a.m. this morning, Fayette voters will have more places to vote in the general election.

Today through Friday, running from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. four locations will be open to accept voters, in hopes of relieving a potential crush of electors on Tuesday, Nov. 4.

The locations are:
- The Peachtree City Library, downstairs in the Floy Farr room;
- The Tyrone Library; and
- The public meeting room at the Fayette County government complex in downtown Fayetteville; this room is located adjacent to the fountain off Ga. Highway 85 across from the American Legion Log Cabin; and
- The Fayette County Elections Office, also located at the Fayette County government complex in Suite 209.

Any registered voter may cast a ballot at either of these three locations, officials have said previously.

On Tuesday, Nov. 4 all 36 precincts will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and voters will be limited to voting only in the precinct for which they are registered.

Anyone with questions about which precinct they must vote in Nov. 4 should contact the Fayette County Elections Office at 770-305-5408.

Please do your homework before you vote:

1. Know your US & GA congress districts and poll location,
http://sos.georgia.gov/cgi-bin/locator.asp

2. Study the ballot, http://www.fayettecountyga.gov/elections/pdf/Nov2008SampleBallot-FAY.pdf and research the issues and candidates.

3. Go vote!

I've been reading up on the three proposed amendments on the ballot. I've made up my mind about nos. 1 and 2, but I'm still not sure about Amendment 3 (creation of Infrastructure Development Districts). Anyone have any thoughts about the ramifications of this one?

They sure did not plan too well for this. We waited for three and a half hours today.
It appears that the State computer system was overloaded. In this day and age how could that happen. Thanks! Sonny.

manages elections. I'm quite sure Sonny has ZERO to do this.

That said, I would expect shorter lines in Fayette County on election day, mainly because many have voted, and ALL precincts will be open.

One last thing, don't forget Democrats vote on WEDNESDAY the 5th, and Repubs vote on Tuesday the 4th. This too will help with lines, etc.

Spyglass. You may think misleading voters is funny but it's not. The right to vote is almost a sacred obligation and to mis-state the date to vote is almost sacrilege. Ok I will blame the slow computers on the Republican Secretary of State. Republicans always try to suppress the vote anyway.
Suggarfoot. That was your only selection- Nicole File. My wife and I voted for Janet smola. So you are one behind

Doesn't need to vote.

Sure, the Pubs are "suppressing the vote". That's it. Wow, why does everything have to be someone's fault?
