Patti LaBelle and the National Anthem

World Series game 4. Oh my gosh! All respect I've ever had for her and her music is now GONE. Why must such talented singers disrespect our National Anthem? Sing it as it was written! That was the worst rendition I've ever heard, topping the abomination at the Village Amphitheater a couple of years ago.

It was a pretty bad rendition, not to mention that it seemed to go on for about five minutes with all that superfluous emoting.

Still all in all the greatest rendition of the anthem, to me anyway, was Whitney Houston, God bless the little crack head!

I agree. We were thinking it was the worst ever. She sounded horrible. We thought Taylor Swift sounded good when she sang it though.

I totally agree. My husband and I were thinking, "Why couldn't she just sing it how it was written?" She added way to much soul to it. In fact, for all 3 games, they haven't had anyone sing it great. Are the famous stars asking too much money? I'm sure there is some beautiful child, even that would be honored to sing it, and better than her.
