Nancy Price is now officially the next director for the Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater in Peachtree City.

Price, who has overseen The Villages Amphitheater in Fayetteville since its inception, had a one-year contract unanimously approved by the City Council.

The Fred, as it is commonly referred to, will now be part of the city's Recreation Department. Council adopted an $869,000 budget for the amphitheater that considers having 10 different acts coming on 10 different nights instead of having 10 acts come in for two-night shows.

After the vote to select Price, she told council: "I look forward to bringing the fun back to The Fred."

The budget includes a projected surplus of almost $100,000.

Hopefully a good choice. I for one would have brought back Kristy Rapson, or Donna Romeo. Both did a wonderful job with it. I would guess the cities only draw back is that they would have to pay them a decent salary and not play hide & seek with the money!

I'm just say'n...
