Golf cart easiest way to air showFri, 10/10/2008 - 2:43pm
By: John Munford
F-18s will fly out of Falcon Field The best way for local residents to attend the Great Georgia Airshow Saturday and Sunday is on a golf cart. Golf carts will be allowed to park in designated areas near Falcon Field, and handicapped vehicles will also be able to park at the field as usual. Anyone driving a regular vehicle will have to park at one of two parking lots which includes the Starr’s Mill High School campus and Cooper Lighting. From there patrons will be taken by shuttle buses to Falcon Field. Residents traveling on golf carts will only be able to cross Ga. Highway 74 at Crosstown Road when a police officer is available to direct traffic. Normally golf carts are not allowed to cross at that intersection. Organizers recently worked out a plan to host the Navy F-18 jets at Falcon Field during the air show. That means the jets will take off and land from the airport instead of being based out of town at a place like Dobbins Air Force Base like the F-16s. The F-18s arrived late Thursday afternoon. login to post comments |
