Looks like those republicans who voted no on bailout

the first go-around now want to get up and say, "well, I voted NO for such a horrible spending plan, first time, I want you to be sure and know that in November, but today I must do the opposite (as I planned to begin with) and vote YES in the big bail-out."
All you dudes out there who vote for me and have $250,000 cash in the bank, can rest easy---I got it changed so that you are now covered by FDIC! All of you truck drivers, waitresses, laborers, bus drivers, clerks, and especially the minimum wage people, are now safe with your $250,000.
I will now vote Yes to save all of those crooked bankers, hedgers, and other money handlers here and abroad.
Just gotta do it.

House republicans.

I made my voters happy with my first vote---they know that is how I would have liked to have done it! They will vote for me again!
Is that what you are saying?

Strange philosophy!

The republicans just proved that by trying to run a country by letting the "free market" loose, is exactly what African and South American nations have done for an eternity!
The money all ends up in banks, owned by those in power and those who had a great deal of money before!

How do they create 11-12 TRILLION of debt just with a war with an unknown Arab nation? Couldn't possibly be that their economic plan is faulty, could it?

With all of that printed money, we will now have unbridled inflation which will really make the unemployed, the non-rich retired, the crippled, and the veterans, suffer greatly.

The only homes that will be saved will be the people with high paying jobs.

I'm convinced that there is NO PLAN to save many of the millions of foreclosed homes---but, just to demolish most of them so that more can be re-built!

There goes our "return" on investment.

We failed at capitalism, didn't we?

Failed Capitalism? Are you suggesting that Socialism is better? Well, now I know why many of you support Obama.

I am truly amazed at how many narrow minded 'liberals' want to place the blame with the Republican party. Certainly they could have done more to stop the landslide that had already been set into motion. Seems to me, though, that they ran into ALOT of opposition by those wonderful Democrats like Barney Frank and the extreme liberal backed organizations like ACORN. "A house for everyone" - sounds like it is socialism that has crippled our nations economy. And let's not forget the blame that you and I need to own. Ever charged anything you otherwise could not have afforded? Sure you have - I have.

I am not so ill conceived that I don't recognize the faults of McCain. I do and, upon the advise of Main Stream, have been doing some research on McCain's voting record. But, I can tell you this with great conviction - I WILL NEVER VOTE FOR A MAN WHO CANNOT PLACE A HAND TO HIS HEART AND PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE (WHICH MEANS LOYALTY) TO OUR NATIONS FLAG!

Why could he not do this? Maybe his socialist puppet masters would have disapproved? Oh, yes, I know - Obama denounced his racist anti-american spiritual advisor of twenty years, perfectly timed for his campaign. Begs to question - which is worse: Being a racist, socialist, that hates America or denouncing who you are? Now that's character.

My dad, a vietnam veteran, will be (hopefully) retiring soon - that is if our government has not screwed that up and by government I refer to both parties. So, yes, I am concerned that McCain has consistently voted against veteran issues. One day I may need to care for my father and will do so gladly and with love, but would like to think that the Department of Veteran Affairs would do their share and uphold their obligation to him. Perhaps you could argue that, in this way, McCain has denounced who he is. Maybe politcs can corrupt anyone. But I can't help but go back to how McCain spent five years of his life enduring torture BECAUSE he would not denounce his country and BECAUSE he would not leave his fellow P.O.W's behind.

I have stated several times here that I am voting for McCain. Doesn't make me think he was smart with the Palin thing, or that he is the best we could have had, but he can get more done than Obama--that desperately needs done.

Now, I must advise you that the Veterans Administration is as close an entity to socialism as one can conceive! A good republican should not want any handouts from Washington! Maybe Sonny will help you!

As to capitalism not working, that is not the fault of capitalism---it is strictly in this case the fault of the managers it has had for the last eight years! War is all they paid any attention to, I'm afraid. That and the oil companies.

Capitalism only works if you share. Bush, his friends in high places, Republicans, Democrats forgot all about sharing. No country survives for long without sharing the wealth that is just the way it is. Faux News, Limbaugh, Hannity and their ilk are part of the problem. You want to get informed watch Cspan..the hearings are ongoing on this Financial Disaster, my God it is absolutely sicking what these, I can't think of enough negatives for these corrupt fools that ran these company's...the boards of these company's...Every single one of these fools should be in JAIL..not just Jail, Prison...the only problem, there aren't enough Prison's...Everyone of these fools should have their bank accounts frozen until we know exactly what happened. You can't tell me these idiots didn't know what was going on.
May they all rot in H--L!!!!!!!

You need to watch something other than Fox News and Sean Hannity. The "Pledge" thing has been debunked by many independent sources. But you actually must check yourself (an act it seems most neocons can't seem to figure out). As for blaming the Dems for everything, certainly they are at least equally to blame. But since the Repubs. controlled Congress from 1994 through 2006, and the Presidency since 2001, then why OH WHY didn't they act to correct all these horrid democratic bills, laws, acts, etc.? Please, OH PLEASE enlighten us. Perhaps it's because their "friends" were profiting in big ways also.
Yeah, a lot of Obama's plans are socialist. But I am not seeing or feeling the great benefits of "trickle down." Maybe we should go back to what George H.W. Bush termed "trickle down," and call it what it really is, "Voodoo Economics." Even he saw the scam.

Now we are paying the piper for the total lack of vision, control, concern, etc. of a remarkably failed President and remarkably failed Republican Congress who allowed unfettered spending along with unheard of tax cuts.
By the way, I am retired military with a son serving. I have great respect for McCain's Vietnam experience. He is a true hero. But he was not the only one. They were all heroes, with Adm. Stockdale being the greatest. You act like McCain "chose" to be a POW. He may be an American Hero, but he cheated on his wife (violation of the UCMJ), dumped her for a much younger woman (character), went to bat for Charles Keating (character), first voted no on Bush tax cuts, now votes yes (flip-flop), ensured that Pinnacle West and SunCor made millions selling land to Luke AFB, then received over $300,000 in donations, has ties to numerous lobbyists, and, is pushing "socialism" to the banking industry with the bailout.
So do your homework and actually research these allegations for yourself instead of listening to slander TV,

It was during the singing of the Star Spangled Banner, not the Pledge of Allegiance, that Obama chose to stand at attention during an Iowa steak fry. From what the media has reported, and shown with several pictures, is that Obama does place his hand over his heart during the Pledge of Allegiance. Click on the link which includes pics of Obama doing just that.

"Modern custom does not require a hand over the heart, said Anne Garside, director of communication for the Maryland Historical Society, home of the original manuscript of The Star-Spangled Banner.

"I think the bottom line is that you show respect with your demeanor," she said. "Whether you put your hand over your heart, hold your hat at shoulder level or waist level, is really in this day and age irrelevant."

We should all feel great sorrow for you. Apparently superficial cosmetic physical placements of appendages and the mentality of bumper sticker patriotism are the rules by which you live. Patriotism lives in the heart and soul. Great minds rule, not ornaments and tinsel arrangements.

When you have NOTHING else to run on, you must attack your opponent. If you can't use their demeanor, use their words. If you can't use their words, then change their words like Gov. Palin likes to do (WRT the Afghanistan quote on an air war's cost to civilians). That way, if your opponent's own words don't betray patriotism, you just change them until they do. If you can't use real news stories, just make one or two up!Just make sure you NEVER EVER go on live TV to defend your words (since they aren't defensible).
