Motorcycle enthusiasts and local business commit to raising funds for The Joseph Sams School The Joseph Sams School, a private, not-for-profit, special-needs school in Fayetteville, Ga., has created a new event to help raise funds and awareness for their school: the Ridin’ for a Reason 2008 Joseph Sams School Poker Run. Ridin’ for a Reason motorcycle ride will be held on Saturday, Oct. 11 and will offer a great ride and beautiful fall scenery to its participants, plus an outstanding cause. Starting at 10:30 a.m. at Big Daddy’s Cycle World in South Fayetteville and making stops at Redneck Gourmet in Senoia, Great South Harley Davidson in South Newnan and Big Red Oak Plantation in Gay, the ride will end at Wings & Things in Fayetteville with the final card draw, 50/50 drawing, lunch, raffles, an auction and a live band. With the participation of community businesses and corporate sponsorships, those involved are confident that this ride will help raise much needed funding for the school’s programs and services. The Joseph Sams School is an accredited, private, non-profit organization currently serving more than 65 families of children who have mild to severe cognitive, physical or diagnosed developmental disabilities. It is the only school of its kind in the metropolitan Atlanta area offering comprehensive services from birth through age 22 to such a broad range of individuals with disabilities.
