Bush's Plan to Privatize Social Security

So, I cannot think of a better time than today to bring up, and maybe discuss in Congress the desire by Bush to privatize Social Security by putting all of the funds in our accounts into the stock market. Let's kill off that idea right now and forever. The rest of the world is now teetering on the brink of a financial slide downward on the action on Wall Street. Not only has Bush started to socialize the financial community, he has now alerted the rest of the global financial community that they need to supervise who is in charge of the White House. It is only poetic justice that placing an incompetent alleged president in office, has forever changed the way we look at future presidents, and that the rest of the world may want to exercise its need to have its say as well.

Let's see. The government has taken all of the money that I contributed to Social Security and squandered it on pet projects.

The Social Security "Trust Fund" that our Polititians have pilferred is now worth absolutely zero. It is full of nothing but IOU's to the American people.

After all that has happened, I will take my chances with Wall Street with my money than the incompetent, corrupt government any day.

You liberals talk as if Government can do no wrong- yet the fact that our SS system is virtually bankrupt already somehow seems to escape you. You're hatred of President Bush is blinding you to the truth.

Funny, many of us are getting a Social Security check right on time every month. You say they are broke! Isn't the government broke all over? Don't they owe nearly 11 TRILLION dollars?

Man, it will just continue to be borrowed to pay for it as an ongoing thing! Either that or the "fair Tax" can be upped to about 40% from 30% to pay for it!

If we can borrow for a stupid war and to bail out crooked banks, why not Social Security?

It is a little difference of the government being responsible for issuing checks to people on SS or some stock fund or something not doing well or going bust! Ain't gonna happen!

Don't worry about it. Both Obama and McCain have expressed - for the purpose of gaining the Latino vote - a desire to allow undocumented people (being PC correct) to receive this benefit.

Yeah, maybe the government should buy some Wachovia right now with the SS money---hear it is worth .02 cents per share! May go up to .04 cents!

How about the stock index--it only has gone from 14000 to 10000 recently!

I guess all you 401-k guys know that already!
Yeah, invest it in Lehman Brothers---Oh, they are dead---brothers and company!

No, even better let private citizens invest it for their retirement! They will buy lottery tickets and Cadillacs--Uh, I mean Mercedes--GM is gone!

Between privatization of SS and the hits to 401k and IRAs I'm sure I would be in line for some of Obama's handouts. Of course I have no idea where the gubment is going to get the jing to pay me.
