Masked and Sluf

I agree, part of the hysteria has been created and is almost as stupid as running out to buy bread when some snow falls from the sky.

However, I will "top-up" when I can. I am a female that works mostly nights so 50% of my driving time is done between 1:00 - 2:00 am. I won't allow myself to get into a situation in which I am on empty trying to find gas in the middle of the night risking getting stranded.

Not usually a problem, but when 80% of the population does that it is a problem. I know my car pretty well-even when I drive fast and in traffic I get about 25 mpg and I average about 28-31 mpg on the interstate. You can conserve a lot if you use cruise control at every chance by the way. I know how far I can go at certain points on the gauge. If you top off at half full you probably still could have gone 200 miles or so (with a small reserve) depending on what you drive. I'm sure your commute is not that far, but maybe it is. My chief complaint is with the media hyping this up and getting everyone scared for no reason.
