Poor Li'l obama

Poor li'l obama just can't help his' self. His lipstick comment just shows how inept he is with no teleprompter. Can someone please get this fool a Ron Popeille pocket 'prompter. Re: li'l o... You can take the beast out of the jungle, but you just can't take the jungle out of the beast.

Poor little Crash McCain. He places his yoke on the wrong target, and goes full throttle into the deck. Forgot to check that he used the same words in the same context in a previous fly-by. Not too smart. But, then again, what can you expect?

Stop comparing pigs to the anti-woman, moose skinner from Alaska.

The pigs deseve better.

(anti-woman: Palin charges rape victims for their "Rape Kits" and exams)

PALIN = ANTI-WOMAN

Is that the best attack you have? Pitiful.

I'm trying to read through the internet stories that have merit, and weed out those that sound like garbage but this one stood out as being truthful because of the story in the local Wasilla newspaper 'The Frontiersman' that initially reported about this.

The Republican's may believe that it is a smart move sequestering Palin and feeding her talking points until she becomes a neocon drone, however, the delay is enabling the public to actually define her themselves. And what we are finding out about her is scary.

is the way the Dems are acting/reacting to her choice as running mate. It's gotten way past preposterous.

I see no one bothered to comment on first hand knowledge I posted below. Folks would rather run with the latest "spin" from both sides.

Why all the Palin attacks? Barack Hussein claims that he is not running against Sarah but all they have done is attack her with meaningless junk left and right; why? Because the libs are never about the issues. Barack Hussein has been on the trail for the last 18 months and we still don’t know anything about him or what he stands for, just teleprompter speeches written by a cartoonist. They are more worried about her popularity and the charge it has given the Mc/Plain ticket than the real issues.

No one has answered your rape kit post for obvious reasons, you snuffed that one out! Remember, the left hates the truth, its like pouring salt on a slug, they just squirm and squirm!

Weeding out the garbage?? That is all you and the libs have been throwing out here for days--like wild dogs rooting around in the garbage. This is as usual a non-story. I worked as a nurse for years and it is NOT uncommon for the patient to be billed for the kit. As usual, you add nothing but another "oohh, look what I found out about her". It reminds me of some snooty (uppity?) teenage girl that is so intimidated by the bright, athletic, and beautiful new girl in class.

Outrageous.

And, as I think I've made clear, I'm less than thrilled with McCain's choice.

But there's an awful lot of spin on this story.

Note first that the Sonoma piece originates with the Hufflepuff Post, never known for restraint in portraying conservatives in the worst possible light.

Quite a few gaps are filled in by the author of the piece. The original article in the Wasilla paper makes no mention of Palin. The resistance to having the PD pay for the processing is attributed to the chief. Wrongheaded as they may have been, his concerns were financial, and he went on to argue that the cost should be incurred by neither the victim nor the PD but by the assailant.

According to Fannon, the new law will cost the Wasilla Police Department approximately $5,000 to $14,000 a year to collect evidence for sexual assault cases.

Ultimately it is the criminal who should bear the burden of the added costs, Fannon said.

The forensic exam is just one part of the equation. Id like to see the courts make these people pay restitution for these things, Fannon said.

Fannon said he intends to include the cost of exams required to collect evidence in a restitution request as a part of a criminals sentencing.

Where is the line between a mayor's authority and supervision over a department and his/her micromanaging the department? I don't know the answer, but neither the Wasilla paper nor the Hufflepuff writer explore the issue. The latter was too keenly interested in getting another snowball rolling.

And what is there in the original story that precludes one's thinking that this was a policy that was in place before Palin's tenure (and her hand-picked chief)? I seem to have missed it. The very fact that the governor thought it important to make it a state-level issue in 2000 presupposes that the practice was fairly common among Alaskan PDs. Are we supposed to think that the pre-Palin chief(s) operated with light and grace and would never think of charging the victim?

In all of this, I'm really not interested in defending Palin. But I am interested in cutting through all of the political BS from both sides.

Sometimes, where there's smoke, there's fire. USAToday and the MSM are now picking up on this story. I think Sarah Palin has some 'splainin to do:

"WASILLA, Alaska — In 2000, Alaska lawmakers learned that rural police agencies had been billing rape victims or their insurance companies $500 to $1,200 for the costs of the forensic medical examinations used to gather evidence. They quickly passed a law prohibiting the practice.

According to the sponsor, Democrat Eric Croft, the law was aimed in part at Wasilla, where now-Gov. Sarah Palin was mayor. When it was signed, Wasilla's police chief expressed displeasure.

It is not known how many rape victims in Wasilla were required to pay for some or all of the medical exams, but a legislative staffer who worked on the bill for Croft said it happened. "It was more than a couple of cases, and it was standard practice in Wasilla," Peggy Wilcox said, who now works for the Alaska Public Employees Association. "If you were raped in Wasilla, this was going to happen to you."

In 2000, there were 497 rapes reported in Alaska, FBI statistics show. That's a rate of 79.3 per 100,000 residents, the highest in the nation."

The Hufflepuff Post and Keith Olbermann are just about the only completely unbiased media sources out there.

Surely you don't mean that.

According to the Sorting Hat, Hufflepuff is given to yellow journalism. The Gryffindor Gazette, on the other hand, offers truly fair and balanced reporting.

(Then again, what does the sorting hat know? The stupid thing put me in Hufflepuff! In my heart I know I'm Gryffindor material.)

Remember when Harry's sorted, he sits there and mutters, "Not Slytherin, not Slytherin". You were supposed to squint your eyes shut and grit your teeth and mutter, "Not Hufflepuff! Not Hufflepuff!" The sorting hat takes your opinion into consideration.
I, on the other hand, am Ravenclaw. Ravenclaws stay out of everything. We might as well not be at Hogwarts in the first place. We're barely even in the books. Ravenclaws would write in Ron Paul.
I wonder who the Slytherins will vote for?

They were charged at Southern Regional Hospital for the same kit. Granted that was over 15 years ago, but it happened.

I'm relaying this second-hand, but my understanding is that charging victims for "rape kits" is a thing of the past, since the enactment of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) in the late 1990s.

One of the key provisions of the VAWA is that in order to receive federal VAWA for domestic violence programs, and virtually all states do, as a condition of funding states must enact legislation to prevent requiring raped women to pay for "rape kits".

In a nutshell, anyone other than the victim can be made to pay for the kit.

Hey Skyspy- Just a question about the 57 states. Wanna play? A word to the wise. I was graduated from High School and I'm prepared. I'll check back, moron.

Explain what osamabama intended to say when he said that he had visited all 57 states....

Another "word to the wise".

I was just remembering when obama said he visited all 57 states. When he is off script he gets tongue-tied, like most of us would.

Thanks for watching my back, I'm just a hair above "moron" status.

I thought this was a hoot of a dust up considering the thin-skinned candidate who's campaign is so offended used this term TWICE when talking about Hillary Clinton's health care plan. He even went one further in mentioning Hillary by name. Now, if BObama said 8 years of the same policies is lipstick on a pig, how could this be Sara OMG Palin?

Are McCain supporters stupidly willing or willingly stupid, Skyspy and alarming? Take your time in answering. We got 55 days left. Hopefully they can keep Palin in her safe room that long
